About Bonnie
⚠️ Assisted Rehoming ⚠️
Bonnie is a beautifully affectionate and loyal Staffy who adores people and loves nothing more than being close to her humans. She’s a gentle, loving girl who thrives on attention, belly rubs, and couch cuddles 💕.
Bonnie is well-trained ✔️— house-trained, walks nicely on a loose leash, has excellent recall, and knows commands such as sit, stay, heel, and leave 🎓.
She has lived with a cat and, with slow introductions, is happy to coexist and largely ignore other household animals.
Bonnie isn’t dog-friendly 🐕❌ and prefers not to have dogs approach her, but she can walk past them calmly on-leash.
Like many Staffies, Bonnie experiences anxiety and has been on an SSRI most of her life. She manages well day-to-day and can stay home alone for most of the day.
Her separation anxiety is mild and mostly presents as a little whimpering when she can’t be near you while you’re home.
Bonnie is an indoor/outdoor dog, but she does not cope well being locked outside alone — she will whimper and show signs of anxiety.
She’s a dog who feels safest when her world is kept small and predictable.
Bonnie's favourite things:
• Quiet walks 🐾 off-leash adventures away from other animals
• Belly rubs and cuddles on the couch 💕
• Food 🦴 — especially bones and pig’s ears
• Sleeping soundly 💤 on the bed close to her people
Bonnie is best suited to an older family, couple, or individual looking for a devoted companion. She’s low-energy, easygoing, and happiest in a calm home with a secure yard, daily walks 🐾, and plenty of affection 💕. She is low maintenance and is happy to relax at home with her people after a walk in the morning and afternoon - she enjoys routine. She would do best as the only dog and is not suited to dog parks, beaches, or busy social settings with other dogs.
If you’re looking for a loving, cuddly girl who will be your loyal shadow and bring endless warmth to your home, Bonnie may be your perfect match.
Bonnie weighs under 20kg.
*Assisted rehoming*
This is an assisted rehoming which means that Animals In Need Brisbane (AINB) will advertise, contact applicants and pass on applications that meet the the criteria to the owner who will make the final decision on the rehoming of the animal. AINB may also be requested to undertake an inspection of the successful applicants property to confirm safety and suitability.
There is no adoption fee for assisted rehomings but we do ask for a donation from the successful applicant (of their choosing) to AINB in recognition of the administrative and time costs incurred.
Medical notes
Bonnie has anxiety and is on medication to manage this.
Adoption details
We list animals for adoption on Pet Rescue as well as on our own Animals-in-Need-Brisbane website. We talk with people who contact about an animal to see what their needs and situation are. Our emphasis is on getting the right animal for the people and the right people for the animal. If everyone's needs are met things usually work out well.
If the situation sounds good we arrange a meeting. If all goes well we let people try the animal out for a couple of weeks to ensure that everyone is happy.
We keep records of all adopters, follow up to ensure all is well and undertake to take back any animal if circumstances change.
