Butterbean

Hi, I'm Butterbean, a four-year-old American Staffy mix with the softest face you'll ever see-soft enough that butter would melt right off it. I'm a sweet, appeasing girl who just wants to be adored, cherished and finally given the kindness I've been missing. I came in as a stray with no ID, and no one came looking for me, but I'm still holding onto hope that my forever family is out there somewhere.

I can be timid and very unsure of the world. Everything feels big and a little overwhelming to me, and I need someone patient who will give me time to build trust at my own pace. Once I feel safe, my goofy little personality starts to shine through, and I try my very best to be brave, even when I'm nervous-especially around men. Life hasn't been kind to me, but I'm ready to learn what real kindness feels like.

I would be happy in a home with gentle primary school-aged kids who can help heal a broken heart. I'm also well suited to living with another dog, and it's actually recommended that I go home with a playful, boisterous canine friend. A confident buddy will help me feel secure, show me the ropes and remind me that the world can be fun, not frightening.
