About Sootie
🐾 Meet Sootie 🐾
1 year and 4 month old Cavoodle aka Happy Wiggle Machine or Professional Snuggler
If sunshine came in dog form, it would be Sootie ☀️
This gorgeous Cavoodle is a joyful bundle of energy, love, and enthusiasm who greets every day (and every human) like it’s the best thing that’s ever happened.
Sootie came into care through a private surrender when his much-loved elderly mum could no longer care for him. He was clearly adored, and that love shines through in everything he does — from his happy zoomies to his snuggly nighttime cuddles.
🐶 Home Life & Training
Sootie is toilet trained and may have the occasional accident while settling into a new home (he’s just adjusting, not being naughty!). He hasn’t used a doggy door in foster care, but he’s super clever and would learn in no time.
Sootie is not a fan of crates and would prefer to be moving, playing, and close to his humans — Sootie is content to sleep in with any of the humans but has been known as still young to take a sock or something to snuggle with.
Sootie can bark when meeting new people - his foster mum and dad are working with him on this, but this will be an ongoing training for him.
⚡ Energy & Voice
Sootie is a bouncy, happy boy who’s still learning not to jump up when he’s excited (which is… often 😄). Morning greetings and “you’re home!” moments are BIG EVENTS for him and usually come with wiggles, kisses, and requests for back scratches.
He does like to keep an eye on the neighbourhood and will happily announce when someone walks past the house. New people — especially men — can make him a bit unsure at first, but get down to his level, let him see you’re kind, and you’ll quickly earn his trust, tail wags, and affection.
🧒👶 Kids, Dogs & Cats
Sootie adores kids and matches their energy perfectly. He’s lived with children aged 5, 8, and 10 and absolutely loves curling up at their feet at bedtime. Soft toys are best kept out of reach for now — Sootie is convinced they are his toys and excellent for tug-of-war 😉
He gets along well with other dogs and currently lives with a calmer foster sister. He may invite her to play (politely and persistently), but handles rejection like a gentleman and finds something else fun to do. He’s most comfortable with small to medium dogs and just needs gentle introductions with larger ones.
Sootie has met cats… and would very much like them to play with him. The cats do not share this enthusiasm 😜
🏡 Daily Life
At night, Sootie loves sleeping at the foot of a cosy bed — bonus points if there’s a child nearby. During the day, his favourite spots are the lounge or right on your lap. He’s an elite-level cuddle bug and an excellent winter companion (basically a fluffy hot-water bottle).
He enjoys walks of all lengths and is generally good on lead. He may bark a little when spotting new people or dogs but responds well to gentle redirection and will only get better with practice.
🎾 Fun Facts & Favourite Things
• Tug-of-war champion 🏆 (ropes, towels, toys — he’s not fussy)
• Loves treats, praise, and neck scratches
• Big greetings, bigger personality
• Occasional tail-chasing performances (purely for entertainment purposes)
✂️ Grooming
Being a Cavoodle, Sootie will need regular grooming and coat care. He arrived in care heavily matted and has since had a fresh, comfy haircut. Future families will need to commit to brushing and routine professional grooming to keep him feeling his best.
💛 In Summary
Sootie is a happy, clever, affectionate young dog who will thrive in a home ready for fun, training, cuddles, and lots of love. He’ll reward you with loyalty, laughter, and the most enthusiastic “welcome home” you’ve ever experienced.
If your life is missing a little extra joy, warmth, and wag — Sootie is ready to fill that space 🐾💛
