NOTE: You are unable to meet Herb until/unless you have been notified that you are a successful applicant. An adoption cannot be approved unless you are able to come to the shelter to meet Herb in person and bring any dogs you currently have with you.

What I need in my new home:
• Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• Further training with basic doggie manners
• To be allowed inside with my family and not left outside 24/7 with no interaction.
• A submissive dog is the best housemate for me. But, I LOVE LOVE LOVE people, so I'm just as happy being an only dog getting all your love and attention for myself
• I can be friends with male and female dogs, but I'm a very energetic and playful dog, so I need a doggy playmate who will match my energy levels and playfulness.
• Please note that I have reactiveness through fences, but when I meet dogs face to face I am typically fine unless they react to me.
• I appeared scared of cats when meeting them at the shelter however once my confidence around them grows I might be more inquisitive. If going to a home with a cat they must be dog savvy, and we must be introduced slowly.
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation
• A diet of good quality dry food to help keep my teeth clean
• Lots of love and attention
• No young children as when I'm excited, I get very bouncy and mouthy, older children who will be involved with my training should be ok.
• SOCIALISATION is as important as training. Taking me to lots of different places, meeting lots of people (children, men, woman etc) and meeting lots of dogs and other animals will ensure I grow into a social and well-adjusted dog.
• TRAINING TRAINING TRAINING. It's ESSENTIAL I receive training in all aspects of my life so I can be the best dog I can be when I'm older.
My best features:
• Very playful
• Wiggle butt
• Highly food motivated
• I love attention and having snuggles with my humans
• I love my toys

Where I need to improve / Training required:
• I love my food & toys so using them as a positive reward should make my training easier.
• I can be a bit bouncy - training should stop this
• I can be strong on the lead - training and walking me in a halti or harness may stop this
• I am social with other friendly dogs however I will react if they are too full on or reactive to me, further socialisation is recommended.
