About Maya
Maya (aka May-May) is a beautiful 2-year-old red female Kelpie with a big heart and an even bigger personality. She is a little bundle of energy who loves to play and explore, but she also has a great off switch and is more than happy to curl up for cuddles when it’s time to relax.
Maya is friendly and social with other dogs but hasn't been tested with cats. She likes to take a little time to sniff and assess new canine friends, and once she feels comfortable her playful, fun-loving side really shines. She enjoys interactive play and thrives with companionship.
Maya loves her toys — balls and ropes are definite favourites — and she also enjoys playing with other dogs. She would do well in a home that can provide regular exercise, mental stimulation, and playtime to keep her happy and fulfilled.
Maya has been living in foster care with two dogs and two children under 13 years of age and has been great in this family environment. She is gentle, affectionate, and adaptable, making her a great candidate for a family home.
Maya is still gaining experience on lead, but she has already picked up some good basics and shows a real eagerness to learn. She is smart, motivated, and ready to continue her training with a committed handler or family.
Maya will need an active household that can engage her mind and body while also enjoying her cuddly and affectionate nature. With the right guidance, she has the potential to excel. If you’re looking for a loyal, playful, and loving companion with lots of potential, Maya may just be the perfect match.
Maya is located in VIC.

You can also write out your answers and email them to dogs@dogs4jobs.com.au
*Please note, due to the high volume of applications received, we will not respond to Petrescue chat messages, or enquiries to adopt a dog. You must complete our adoptions form to be considered for the dog or pup, and we will respond to this form via our email.
We will then request to complete a yard check, or for you to send in photos of your yard showing the fencing, space, shelter and any hazards etc, to confirm it is safe and secure, as well as adequate space for a working breed dog.
Following this, we will then put you in touch with the dog/s foster carer/s that you are interested in, to chat further over the phone, about whether the dog is a good fit for your family, and vice versa. We are searching for the perfect match for each dog and their needs. We offer interstate adoption on all of our dogs.
