Meet Bundy,
Bundy is a sweet-natured gentle giant who’s been working hard on building his confidence — and it’s paying off! When he first arrived, Bundy was a little unsure of the world, but with time, patience, and plenty of encouragement, he’s blossomed. He still has occasional moments of shyness, but once he realises you’re kind, he warms up quickly and happily leans in for affection.
Bundy is best suited to experienced owners, particularly those who understand timid dogs and know how to help them feel safe and supported. He’s sensitive, gentle, and wonderfully agreeable — the kind of dog who genuinely tries to do the right thing and loves being close to the people he trusts.
He’d fit into any household environment and would make a fantastic match for active people or families who enjoy getting out and about. Bundy is very social with people and is steadily learning how to make doggy friends, showing more confidence every day.
Affectionate, sweet, and eager to engage, Bundy is the kind of dog who will absolutely soak up your love and attention — and give it right back. If you’re experienced, patient, and ready to help this lovely boy continue growing into himself, Bundy is waiting to meet you.
Ideal Home: Bundy is best to live in a standalone home or on a farm/acerage, with a medium to large yard and high, secure fencing.
Family: Bundy is open to meet kids of any age.
Bundy is fine to live with people who work full-time hours as he shows no signs of separation anxiety. He is able to spend time in the yard on his own, and on occasion would also like to be inside with his new family.
Furry Friends: Bundy is dog selective - when meeting another dog Bundy is very excited and eager to interact, he does lack confidence though, so if the other dog makes a sudden movement or noise that Bundy isn't prepared for he becomes a little sooky and will retreat. Bundy is best suited to other dogs who are similar to him behaviourally (calm, docile, placid).
With additional training Bundy could be the kind of dog that you could take to a dog friendly café or social setting.
As we cannot test in this environment, we are unsure how Bundy would be living with cats/pocket pets. This would up to the discretion of his new owners.
Training & Development: Bundy would benefit from post-adoption training such as training at home to cover basic commands/obedience. Group classes would be good too so that Bundy can learn to interact with other dogs and build his confidence. Loose lead walk training would also be recommended for Bundy as he is strong and pulls on walks. He is mild mannered and may jump on you - but not often.
Bundy is still learning his name, but he knows commands such as sit and down - he is also toilet trained.
He is food motivated, so having treats on you during training to mark good behaviour would still be an excellent idea. He also takes treats from you gently.
We always recommend post-adoption training whether it be at home or with a professional. Training doesn’t have to be a chore – it can be a fun experience for you both, it doesn’t have to take long & is a great way for you to bond with your new pal.
Play: Bundy has mid-range energy needs & would benefit from exercise or walks from 30-60mins a day to keep him healthy and content. Bundy is not interested in playing with toys, he prefers to go for walks, or simply likes being near you and hanging out with you.
Bundy's walking skills are a little rusty - he pulls and due to his size, he is strong too. He will need loose lead training which we have started to do with him but this will need to continue in his new home. He is best walked with a halti or sporn harness.
Staff Comments: Bundy arrived at the shelter very nervous and timid around people but he ha since become a lot more confident. He is a puller when it comes to walks - especially when there's a new smell in the air, so he will need an owner who is physically capable for walking him and an owner who is invested in training him in this particular field.

With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as flawless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories. Most left in the shelter by their owners. The information we receive is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks will surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
So please keep in touch with us after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
