About Oakie The Greyhound
Hey there! I’m Oakie the grey… although, thanks to my world-class ears, I’m often mistaken for a fennec fox. Honestly? I take it as a compliment. Have you seen those guys? Next-level cute.
I’m a petite, devilishly handsome fawn boy with gorgeous long legs for days. I can be a little timid when we first meet, but don’t worry — I warm up quickly and that’s when my goofy, playful personality really shines. I’m incredibly affectionate and firmly believe there’s no such thing as “too close” (I try my best to prove this daily).
One of my absolute favourite things is splashing around in the pool. These long pins of mine are perfect for delivering truly impressive zoomies, both in and out of the water. I do have rather soft paws though, so a home without lots of gravel would suit me best.
I live for love and attention and am very proud of my award-winning greyhound lean, which I deploy regularly and with great success — it never fails to make the volunteers swoon.
I enjoy meeting new canine friends of all shapes and sizes and could happily live with kids aged 5 and over, as long as they’re gentle and understand that I sometimes need a quiet space while I settle in.
So, if you think there might be room for a little fox-eared greyhound in your life, please get in touch with the lovely humans at Greyhound Rescue.

To make sure everyone is happy, we match each hound with the right family, and we provide lots of support along the way!
All hounds are desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm (including heartworm) treated. The adoption fee includes our Adopter Kit containing a martingale collar, leash, muzzle and useful information to help you get your new hound settled in.
