About Chuba
Chuba is a female Domestic Short Hair cat available for adoption in Laverton North (Melbourne, Victoria).
Chuba is a soft, thoughtful cat who thrives in peaceful environments. Gentle and sensitive by nature, she enjoys calm routines and the quiet comfort of sharing space with the person she trusts.
While she may take a little time to feel safe in new situations, once she settles in she reveals a deeply affectionate side that makes her a very special companion.
A little about Chuba:
🐾 Gentle, sensitive and quietly affectionate
🐾 Forms strong bonds with trusted people
🐾 Enjoys calm homes and predictable routines
🐾 Best suited to a quiet indoor-only household
🐾 Happiest as the only pet
Chuba spends much of her day enjoying peaceful moments. She often relaxes in cosy spots, watching the room from a comfortable distance or settling into a long, contented nap.
Playtime appears when the mood strikes. A teaser wand can spark bursts of playful energy before she returns to her favourite resting places.
When she feels safe, Chuba’s affectionate side shines through. She enjoys gentle head rubs and chin scratches, often nuzzling into hands or pressing her face softly against her guardian.
Sometimes she even offers little licks, a sweet sign of trust that many people find incredibly endearing.
With unfamiliar people or busy environments, Chuba prefers to observe quietly until she feels comfortable. Having the time and space to approach things in her own way helps her build confidence.
Chuba would flourish in a calm household where life moves at a steady pace.
She would be happiest in an indoor-only home without other pets, allowing her to fully relax and build a strong bond with her guardian.
Someone patient and understanding, who appreciates the quiet beauty of a sensitive cat, will discover just how loving and loyal Chuba can be.
Life with Chuba often feels peaceful and reassuring.
Mornings might begin with quiet companionship as she settles nearby while the day begins.
Afternoons may find her curled up in a cosy spot, resting comfortably or watching the room with calm curiosity.
Evenings often bring gentle affection—soft head nudges, quiet cuddle moments, and the warm comfort of a cat who has chosen you as her person.
For the right guardian, Chuba offers something truly special: a gentle, devoted companion whose trust and affection grow stronger with time.

Medical notes
Chuba has been living her best life with a fantastic owner who is dedicated to her ongoing health and wellbeing. She's looking forward to continuing to live well with a wonderful adopter. The following are little Chuba’s requirements for a happy and healthy life;
🐾 A strict hydrolysed-protein diet to prevent digestive upset, as other foods can trigger vomiting.
🐾 A guardian who can recognise early signs of stress and act promptly when support is needed. Her anxiety can occasionally lead to over-grooming or chewing at a spot on her leg, but her sensitive nature is very manageable with attentive care.
Darling Chuba may need semi-regular veterinary check-ins throughout her life to ensure her health is well supported, but in a calm environment with a guardian who is proactive about her care, Chuba thrives and is able to enjoy all the gentle, affectionate moments she offers so beautifully.

Adoption details
When enquiring about a pet listed with Home2Home, your enquiry goes directly to the pet’s guardian—the person who knows them best!
From here, the guardian will be in touch to learn more about you and chat with you about their pet. It’s a great opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about the pet, including its likes and dislikes, needs, and how it may fit into your lifestyle and family.
If your home and lifestyle match the pet's needs, the next step will be arranging a meet-and-greet to make sure everyone is happy to proceed with a formal adoption.
Following the adoption, change of ownership paperwork will be completed, and proof of vaccination, microchipping, and desexing (if applicable, as indicated on the listing) will be provided.
All pets adopted through Home2Home will require an adoption contract to be signed and an adoption fee to be paid. The pet’s guardian will complete the adoption contract with you and provide a link to PetRescue’s secure payment portal for completing the adoption fee payment.
Home2Home currently operates a ‘pay what you choose’ system for cat adoption fees. This means that adopters will be able to choose an adoption fee amount that is suitable for them. All adoption fees are used to support PetRescue's life-saving programs, including Home2Home.
