Cruiser is an 8 year old Border Collie looking for a very specific home where he can truly relax and thrive. He is an incredibly intelligent and intuitive boy who forms deep bonds with his person and is happiest living a calm, predictable lifestyle with someone who understands and respects his boundaries.
đź’™ Personality
Cruiser is independent by nature and enjoys doing his own thing, but in the right home he becomes an incredibly loyal and devoted companion. He loves routine, structure and knowing what to expect each day. He enjoys playing fetch, exploring outdoors and relaxing in the garden soaking up the sunshine.
He can become protective of his person and home, so Cruiser is specifically looking for a calm single person household where he can feel secure and settled without too much activity or pressure around him.
🍖 Training & Behaviour
Cruiser is fully house trained, understands boundaries well and responds beautifully to consistency and routine. He is very food motivated, making ongoing training rewarding and enjoyable.
He can be sensitive with handling, particularly around his legs, and can be nervous during vet visits or grooming appointments, so he needs someone patient, calm and respectful of his space.
When travelling in the car, Cruiser needs to be secured in a covered crate or ute dog box due to his herding instincts, which can lead to vocal behaviour. One of his favourite things in the world is running along the beach.
🏡 Cruiser’s Perfect Home
Cruiser must go to:
• A single person home
• A property or acreage, not suburbia
• A quiet environment with minimal visitors
• A home without other dogs
He will do best living away from the hustle and bustle where he can enjoy peace, space and routine. Cruiser needs an experienced owner who appreciates intelligent working breeds and can provide a calm, structured environment where he feels safe and understood.
