About Lucy
Meet Lucy, a sweet tri-coloured Amstaff who’s learning that the world isn’t as scary as she once believed. After a tough start, she’s hoping to begin the new year with her perfect family—one that will offer her the love and patience she deserves—so she can finally settle in and enjoy the comfort of a forever home.
😍 Loves cuddles (once she knows you)
😍 Loves her toys and classic staffie zoomies
✅️ Toilet trained
✅️ No separation anxiety
✅️ Cat friendly
Lucy is a total sweetheart once she feels at ease, and she’s looking for a caring new family to help her gain confidence and feel secure. She can be a bit nervous around unfamiliar men, but with some tasty chicken and a little patience, she’ll become your loyal, loving companion for life. There’s nothing quite like the unconditional love a Staffie gives their person.
She loves being around people, whether she’s perched proudly on her makeshift box throne or curled up next to you in a chair, completely convinced she’s part of the family. True to her Staffie spirit, she’s absolutely sure she’s a lap dog at heart.
Lucy would do great with a calm male dog buddy, given the right introduction, as it could help boost her confidence and show her the world isn’t so scary. That said, she’s just as happy being the only dog, soaking up all the love and attention she deserves. She currently lives with a cat, so she’d be perfectly fine with a dog-savvy feline friend.
She adores a fun game of chase and can spend hours entertaining herself by tossing toys into the air and catching them. Her zoomies perfectly display her endless energy. This smart girl already knows commands like sit, stay, drop, shake, and heel, and she’s fully toilet trained!
Lucy could use a little more leash training, as Staffie mixes tend to be enthusiastic pullers. She’ll also need some time and patience to settle into new environments and meet unfamiliar people, since her nerves can sometimes take over. Even so, her eagerness to please and love for treats make her a quick study.
Lucy has adjusted nicely to spending time alone at home, though she still has occasional bouts of mild separation anxiety, so she’d probably do best with a family where someone is around most of the day. She’s also come to love car rides, jumping in without hesitation—a sure sign she’s eager to please. That said, water isn’t her favorite, so baths and hoses are best handled with a gentle touch.
Above all, Lucy needs a patient, caring, and understanding owner to introduce her to a world filled with kindness. With time and love, she’ll return the favor with endless affection and unwavering loyalty. Her gentle heart and playful nature are ready to fill her new home with warmth and love.
