Meet Zuri 💕

Zuri is a gentle, soft-hearted kitty who's learning that the world can be a safe and loving place. She's on the shy side at first and can feel overwhelmed in big, open spaces, so she'll do best starting out in a small, quiet room where she can settle in at her own pace before exploring the rest of the house.

Once she feels safe, Zuri's sweet personality begins to shine. She loves gentle pats (she'll even lean right into them!) and has a serious weakness for chicken treats. She enjoys having lots of cozy options around the house-cat trees, scratch posts, shelves, and hidey spots like boxes or igloos-so she can choose whether to relax up high or curl up somewhere snug.

Zuri is looking for a patient, understanding adopter who knows that shy cats sometimes need a little extra time to show their true selves. A calm home with teens or older children who understand cat body language and know when to give her space would be a great fit.

She previously lived with other cats and, while she hasn't been fully tested yet, she does enjoy watching them and will chirp at them from afar. With slow introductions and supervision, she may be happy sharing her home again. She could also do well with a calm, cat-savvy dog if introductions are gentle and monitored.

Zuri came into care very scared and overwhelmed, but with time and kindness, she has made lovely progress. She's still sensitive to loud noises and fast movements, but every day she grows a little braver. With love, patience, and a cozy home, Zuri will make a wonderfully sweet and rewarding companion 🐱💗
