This beautiful girl is searching for a committed and understanding forever home. She is an affectionate, people-focused dog who forms strong bonds and loves being close to her humans.

Paykel enjoys her walks and loves playing fetch, happily chasing and returning the ball again and again. She walks nicely on lead, has a soft, silky coat, and the most gorgeous soulful eyes. She’s toilet trained and definitely a couch and bed companion.

She is sensitive and has high separation anxiety meaning she struggles when left alone, which leads to crying, digging, and distress. She thrives in a calm, consistent routine and needs someone home a lot.

Paykel doesn’t like to share with other dogs and can resource guard food and toys. She’s looking to be the only pet in her new home. Her new family should be patient, gentle, and committed to positive training to build her confidence when alone and with her guarding behaviours. Daily walks, enrichment, and plenty of play will keep her mind and body active. She is not good with other dogs and won’t be suited to going to dog parks or a home with regular dog visitors.

As a Cocker Spaniel, she requires regular professional grooming every six to eight weeks, frequent brushing, and routine ear cleaning. Above all, she needs companionship, reassurance, and a home where she won’t spend long hours by herself.
