About Polly
Polly is a beautiful and timid soul who has spent her life out in the cold. Polly first appeared as a stray, cautiously trying to befriend a kind family who began earning her trust. They laid the first precious foundations that allowed us to continue helping her here at The Lost Dogs' Home.
Polly has come a long way, but she's still finding her confidence. She can be shy and withdrawn in care, especially in busy environments, yet when approached gently, she leans in for scratches and melts into quiet affection. She's not a fan of little children with their sudden movements and small, grabby hands (and honestly, who can blame her?). Right now, she just needs a calm space and patient people to help her continue to blossom.
Scared cats like Polly need a home that offers safety, patience, and quiet place where they can take things at their own pace. It's important that her adopter provides a cosy hideaway, gentle enrichment, and time to let her personality unfold. There will be days that feel slow, where progress seems invisible, but each tiny moment of trust, each blink, stretch, or nuzzle is a step forward.
Polly's journey won't be quick, but it will be worth it. The Lost Dogs' Home will be here to support you every step of the way, helping you guide her from fear to freedom.
If you can open your heart and home to Polly, you won't just be adopting a cat you'll be giving a gentle soul the chance to truly spread her wings and finally feel safe.
Polly is part of our Rescue or Rehome program, where we are committed to finding homes for cats and kittens who simply cannot cope in the shelter environment. If you can open your heart and home to Polly - or if you're a rescue group able to help - please reach out to us at adoptions@dogshome.com
