About Cricket
Meet Cricket
Cricket is a bright, spirited little dog who brings joy wherever he goes. Though tiny in size, he lives life with enormous enthusiasm and is never shy about letting you know he’s around. With his cheeky personality and unmatched love for toys, Cricket is guaranteed to make you smile. He adores every person and dog he meets and is always ready to make a new friend.
Cricket is still learning that the world is a safe and friendly place—sometimes hats, vacuums or unfamiliar items are a bit puzzling! He may use his voice at first to show he’s unsure, but with gentle reassurance he settles quickly. A patient, understanding home will help this sweet boy continue to discover that new experiences can be fun.
Ideal Home:
Cricket’s perfect home is one filled with love, belly rubs, and plenty of cuddles. He absolutely thrives in the company of other dogs—big or small—and having a confident canine companion will help him continue to grow in confidence and feel secure as he adjusts to family life.
He would benefit from puppy school and ongoing positive-reinforcement training to build his skills and support his development. He’s already mastered “sit” and “lie down,” and he’s very close to being fully toilet trained. His new family will need to understand he is a vocal guy and is working on when it's appropriate to bark or not, apartments are probably not the best fit for him because of this.
If you’re looking for a loving, lively little companion who will flourish with support and canine friendship, Cricket could be the perfect addition to your home.
Energy Level:
Cricket loves gentle strolls and chasing his doggy pals, but he’s just as happy to curl up for a nap by your side or follow you around the garden. As a growing youngster with a joyful spirit, he enjoys a good play session or run around—but he also knows how to wind down.
Suitability With Children:
Cricket hasn’t yet met children under 5, but he loves all humans and has never shown signs of aggression. He can get quite excited when greeting new people and may shower you with enthusiastic face licks!
Suitability With Other Pets:
Cricket adores dogs of all shapes and sizes, though his small stature means he can be a little overwhelmed at first. With gentle introductions, he quickly relaxes. He is untested with cats, but given his age, he may do well with slow, patient introductions to a calm and tolerant cat. He is still learning his manners around other animals and will benefit from guidance as he grows.

Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two-week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
