About Ginger
💛 Ginger — A Gentle Little Sweetheart Looking for Her Safe Place 💛
Say hello to Ginger, a 4.6-year-old Maltese cross with the softest nature and the biggest desire to feel loved. She’s a shy little girl at first, but once she knows you’re kind, she blossoms into the sweetest cuddle buddy who just loves being near her people.
Ginger is an inside girl through and through — she’s pee-pad trained, loves routine, and feels safest when she’s close to her humans. Loud noises and busy environments can worry her, so she’s looking for a calm, gentle home where she can relax and take life at her own pace.
She can get a bit upset if left alone for too long and may bark when anxious, so someone who’s home often would make her feel very secure.
She walks beautifully on a lead and absolutely lives for sniff breaks — her little legs adore easy, flat paths, and she’ll happily accept a carry cuddle when she’s tired.
Ginger enjoys enrichment toys, knows basic commands, and has adorable bursts of playful energy for tug-o-war, fetch, and backyard exploring.
She’s also recently discovered the joy of tennis balls and proudly carries them around like she’s the cleverest girl in the world — and honestly, she kind of is.
When it comes to other dogs, Ginger can be a little unsure, especially around bigger pups. She doesn’t need another dog for company, but she could enjoy a calm, friendly small dog as a companion once she settles. She’s not suited to busy dog parks or noisy homes, and she can feel overwhelmed around young children.
Untested on cats
Ginger has never shown aggression — she just uses her voice when she’s feeling nervous or needs some space. She’s also a bit of a fussy eater at times, so a patient human who doesn’t mind adjusting mealtime to help her feel comfortable would be perfect.
And of course, she has her own sweet quirks: she loves movie nights, thinks spinach and cucumber are gourmet snacks, enjoys the smells, and believes every walk should include as many sniffs as possible — especially after rain!
More than anything, Ginger wants a home where she feels safe, understood, and gently loved. In return, she’ll give you soft snuggles, quiet companionship, and a sweet little presence that warms your heart every day.
If you’re looking for a gentle, loving little companion who just wants to feel safe and adored, Ginger might be your perfect match. 💛🐾

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $250) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.

INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
