Jasper

Jasper is a handsome, chunky ginger cat who perfectly combines the instincts of a skilled hunter with the lifestyle of a dedicated couch potato. An excellent mouser, he has proven himself very capable at catching mice, rats, and birds — though these hunting expeditions are usually brief, as he much prefers the comforts of the couch.

His favourite activities include long naps on the sofa, lounging on his cat tower, and perching on the back of the couch while his family watches TV. While he is not a lap cat and doesn’t enjoy being picked up, he loves to snuggle in beside your leg during TV time and is more than happy to curl up on the bed with you at night.

Jasper is an independent yet affectionate cat. He is friendly and social with people, including visitors, and gets along well with other cats. He currently shares his home with another male cat of similar age and has lived with multiple foster cats without issue. He is tolerant of sharing his space as long as the other animals respect his boundaries. He also lives harmoniously with a small senior dog and is great with teenagers.

Although Jasper is generally very relaxed and easy-going, he is quite shy around strangers and can be a serious scaredy cat. He may try to run and hide when first meeting new people and will need time and patience to settle into a new home and feel comfortable.

His current family is looking for a home where Jasper can be more active, lose some weight, and make better use of his natural hunting abilities.

An ideal home would be on a farm or rural property where he can safely roam during the day, hunt mice, and then return in the evening for comfort and affection from his people.

Jasper is desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, and ready for adoption. He is a loving companion who enjoys the comforts of home and the warmth of his humans.

About Us

Urban Feline Australia is a small, independent cat rescue dedicated to saving surrendered cats from kill shelters and finding them loving, permanent homes.

Founded and run by a passionate animal lover with the support of dedicated friends and volunteers, we specialise in caring for cats that have previously lived in family homes but, for various reasons, can no longer stay with their owners.

Since our inception, we have been fortunate to build a small but dedicated network of volunteer foster carers. These compassionate individuals welcome the surrendered cats into their homes, providing them with love, care, and a safe environment while we search for their perfect forever families.

As a tiny, grassroots rescue with no government funding or large facilities, every rescue is powered by compassion, community support, and a genuine commitment to animal welfare.

All adoption fees and donations go directly toward the essential needs of the cats in our care — including premium food, veterinary treatment, litter, equipment, and ongoing medical support. We rely heavily on the generosity of our foster carers, volunteers, and supporters to continue our work.

Our long-term vision is to expand so we can help even more cats in need. This includes securing a larger dedicated property and, one day, possibly opening a cat café to raise awareness and funds while creating a welcoming space for cat lovers.
