About Boss
đ Boss is Ready for His Forever-Foster Home đ
Boss was rescued from Murray Pound. This gentle boy was in deplorable condition. His spirit was broken he had given up. It was hard to believe the neglect.
When we first picked him up from the pound, he had almost no hope left. He was completely shut down and withdrawn, carrying the weight of a lifetime of neglect. Seeing him in that state was heartbreaking
Since coming into care, Boss has made steady, brave progress. He now seeks out cuddles, enjoys gentle pats, and has even started doing his little âhappy bouncesâ at mealtimes and for his daily slow walks. His trust in people, despite everything he has endured, is truly something special.
Boss is now ready for the next chapter â a forever-foster home where he can spend his final years surrounded by comfort, love, and safety. He has become very attached to his humans and loves nothing more than following me around all day like a sweet, quiet shadow.
He would ideally suit someone who is home often, but he is also used to being alone and would cope fine with a full-time worker. What is essential is that Boss is an inside dog. After everything he has been through, he deserves warmth, inclusion, and companionship â not to be left outdoors alone. We really want his final years to be spent in comfort, surrounded by love, and never again feeling forgotten in a yard.
Boss is gentle, low-maintenance, and not demanding. He doesnât mind other dogs but isnât playful with them, so a home with no dogs or a calm, older dog would be ideal. Heâs been good with older kids and showed no interest in the cat he saw from across the road. Emotionally, he is soft and grateful â he quietly leans in for pats and melts into your hands.
Medically, Boss will remain under vet care, and his new forever-foster family will need to continue his simple but important treatments. He has a chronic ear infection that requires twice-daily drops and ointment, and with continued care we are hopeful it will keep improving. He is deaf in one ear and has limited hearing in the other, but he manages well. Boss also has large, deep calluses on his joints that cannot be removed due to the difficulty of healing â his new family must accept him exactly as he is. His skin needs twice-weekly medicated baths; he doesnât like the shower but will tolerate it if you coax him with treats.
Daily slow-paced walks are important for his movement and also one of the things that bring him joy. Boss is the definition of a gentle, grateful soul who just wants to be close to his human and enjoy the simple comforts he has been denied for so long.
Boss is currently in Margaret River, and weâd ideally love to keep him in the region, but he can also be rehomed in Perth for the right home.
