❤️ Meet the Dapper Gillam ❤️
This handsome sweetheart has captured all our hearts. He loves to love and be loved.
He’s all about life’s simple pleasures: snuggling, giving big soppy kisses, basking in the sun, enjoying short leisurely walks and de-fluffing his teddies.
Personality & Favourite Things
• A champion cuddler and kisser who wants nothing more than to be close to his people and shower then with soppy kisses
• Loves car rides, beach trips, park strolls especially when puppy yoghurt and ice cream are included!
• Due to his senior age he has decided to to partake in ball games or any form of fetch
• Completely cat-ignorant—much to the cats’ disbelief!
• Is okay with female dogs of similar size; he’ll say hello politely but isn’t interested in play
• Reactive to male dogs
• Not crate trained - Does sleeps through the night in a toddler play pen
• Not house trained - we are working on this
Health & Special Considerations
This gorgeous boy does have some special needs, but with understanding and support, he will thrive:
• Deaf – meaning he has zero recall, so he must remain on-lead when outdoors.
Additional he can startle easily, due to not hearing people approaching from behind.
• Spinal Arthritis, he's searching for a committed adopter who can help manage his ongoing care needs. This includes monthly vet visits for Beransa injections, a healthy diet, support gentle walks to keep him moving without overexertion. Most importantly, he needs to stay warm, cosy, and comfortable. While he does have arthritis and inclined to fall if he becomes over tired, he is also very strong.
• Anxiety - this is becoming better with positive reinforcement and will require ongoing training.
• Assistance in and out of the car
Household Requirements
He will do best in a gentle, supportive home that can offer:
• No stairs
• Inside house sleeping arrangements with soft bedding
• Understanding and patience with house training; he is getting better.
• Not suitable for young children due to his size, strength, and being deaf (he can startle easily and needs calm interactions)
• Someone who is home the majority of the time as he does decided to be creative with interior decorating when home alone for an extended period
In Return
He will fill your home with warmth and quiet companionship. He is a truly special boy with eyes that say thank you for loving me. He deserves a safe, loving place to enjoy his remaining golden years.
