🌸 Meet Sienna - A Sweet, Silly Soul Discovering the Joys of Life 🌸
Breed: Maremma Sheepdog x Border Collie
Age: 1 year
Location: Dandenong Ranges (Foster Care)
Other Pets: Needs a friendly, playful dog companion
Not suited to: Cats, pocket pets, or very young children
Sienna is a gorgeous 1-year-old Maremma x Border Collie who is equal parts gentle sweetheart and goofy little comedian. After experiencing severe neglect early in life, she is finally learning that the world can be safe, kind, and full of joy and she’s embracing it in the most heart-melting ways.
This girl has a wonderfully silly streak. She plays hide and seek with the 13-year-old boy in her foster home, often forgetting she’s supposed to stay hidden and peeking her head out with excitement. She also loves being carried like a baby; long legs, fluffy paws and all, melting into your arms as if it’s her favourite place in the world.
And yes… she is still very much a puppy. That means she has the classic puppy hobbies: stealing socks, collecting shoes, and proudly parading her “treasures” around the house. Sienna is naturally playful and cheeky once she feels secure. She adores stuffed toys, zooming around the yard, and exploring with friendly, gentle dogs. A young, playful resident dog is essential for her confidence and happiness.
Because of her difficult start to life, Sienna can still be fearful of new people and new experiences. She needs a calm, patient adopter who understands the needs of working breeds and who can guide her gently as she continues to heal. Once she trusts you, she becomes incredibly cuddly, loyal, and full of personality.
She has recently learned her toileting skills, has mastered “sit,” and is crate trained. She alert-barks when someone arrives on the property-very normal for her breed mix. She’s slowly building confidence on lead; she doesn’t pull, but cars and unfamiliar environments can worry her. With encouragement and consistency, she’s improving beautifully.
Sienna thrives with:
🌿 A friendly, playful resident dog
🌿 Someone patient, gentle, and attuned to working breed needs
🌿 Plenty of room to run, sniff, and explore
🌿 A commitment to ongoing positive obedience training
❌ No cats or pocket pets—she finds chasing very fun
❌ Not suited to small children (still bouncy and learning)
If you’re looking for a clever, affectionate young dog who will make you laugh every single day and you’re ready to invest in her training and emotional growth - Sienna may just be the loyal companion you’ve been searching for.
