About Billy
Billy is a cat we know once had a home. He carries that softness, that familiarity, that quiet hopefulness of a cat who has known comfort before. But when he arrived as a stray ... no one came looking.
Now he sits in his pen, watching the world with wide, uncertain eyes-curious, hopeful, and just a little bit heartbroken.
When you open his door, Billy hangs back in the darker corner, unsure of what to expect. But his body language tells you everything: he wants to connect. His eyes follow you, his whiskers twitch, and he gently moves forward.
That's when you see the real Billy.
When touched gently, he freezes for a moment, he's worried, he's confused, he's trying to be brave. But as soon as he realises it's your hand and he feels that warm, familiar human touch ... Billy melts. He leans in. He smooches. He shows the affectionate heart that's been waiting to come out.
Billy is so sweet, so gentle, and so ready to trust again, he just needs someone who will go slow and let him set the pace.
Invasive handling is still scary for him, but that's okay. Billy is a work in progress, and progress is exactly what he's making every day.
Billy is part of our Rescue or Rehome program, where we are committed to finding homes for cats and kittens who simply cannot cope in the shelter environment. If you can open your heart and home to Billy - or if you're a rescue group able to help - please reach out to us at adoptions@dogshome.com
