About Breezy
Introducing Breezy!
Breezy is a Kelpie x (possibly German Shepherd) born approx 20th November 2024.
Breezy was brought in to us as an unmicrochipped stray & no one came looking for her. When Breezy came into us she was incredibly underweight, where we could see every rib, spine & hip bone. While she has put on weight since being with us, she has clearly had a rough start to her young life. She will need a loving, patient and commited owner who will help heal the emotional wounds from her previous life.
Since being with us, we have noticed that Breezy is quite timid around men. While we understand most households have at least one male in residence, we believe she would be best suited to a home with a quiet, gentle man/men who are willing to help her regain her trust in men. When Breezy trusts you she is incredibly affectionate & she's a very smart girl who's eager to please. She will climb in your lap, give you a few kisses, then hold your arm while you rub her belly.
Breezy has a childlike innocence to her where she wants to experience life, love & excitement.. she just needs to know that she's going to be safe to do so.
Breezy had very anxious energy when we did her dog testing. At first she seemed very excited & wanted to say hello, however the closer she got to others the more aroused she became. She did have a few nips at the other dogs, however this could be a result of stress within the kennel environment & the fact she is a working breed, desperate for a job to do. Breezy was found with Duncan the Boxer x & they arrived to us in the same awful condition which likely means they're from the same household. Given this, we believe she has the potential to live with another dog in the future, however we feel she would be more comfortable being the spoilt only "child" at home while she continues her socialisation.
When trying to introduce Breezy to our facility cat, she sniffed around the room, but completely backed away when she realised there was a cranky cat staring at her. We believe Breezy would be best suited to a home without feline companions.
Breezy seemed unfazed by pocket pets and no aggression was seen. When meeting through a gate she was easy to distract, however she may have a different reaction if they're face to face. We feel if she is to live with pocket pets that they be caged and not free roaming.
Breezy has shown no signs of separation anxiety or food aggression since being at the facility.
Breezy's adoption fee is $550 and includes her desexing, lifetime registration, vaccination and she is up to date with flea & worm treatment.

Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact us on 0499 900 272.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
Congratulations, you have now saved a life!
