About Sukiyaki
*In foster care in Erskineville, Sydney*
To look at Sukiyaki, you'd never guess that her background wasn't all diamond-studded bowls and silver spoons! But since landing on her paws in foster care, this beautiful girl is quickly coming around to the comforts and luxuries of life off the streets.
Suki has a great sense of hearing - appearing as if out of nowhere when you say her name (yes, she already knows it!), make the universal *tsktsktsk* tongue click or shake the treats box. She loves chasing treats down the hallway, hidden in her snuffle mat, or straight from your hand! And the cutest thing is she'll wag her little tail nub when she's happy or excited :)
A total sweetheart, Suki has blossomed into a sociable and friendly kitty who enjoys spending time with humans, and even accedes to laptime and pats when she's in the mood. Though she's still on her journey to full socialisation, she shows SO much potential of becoming a confident and cuddly companion pet for the purrfect person!
Like all Maggie’s pets, Sukiyaki is microchipped, desexed, and vaccinated.

MY IDEAL HOME: ... will be fairly quiet and calm, with a patient and kind single person, couple or family. I'll need some safe spaces for the first couple of weeks, where I can easily retreat to for privacy - eg behind a sofa or bed in a spare room, in a cupboard etc.
Ideally, my new human/s will be happy to let me acclimate slowly and give me all the time and space I need to adjust. Then once I feel safe and secure you'll see what a sooky sweetheart I actually am - and learn that my love for pats, couch cuddles and most of all TREATS knows no bounds! Hot tip - the way to my heart is definitely through my stomach :)
MY ENERGY LEVEL: I tend to wake early for breakfast, sleep most of the day, then stay up late hanging out with you in the evenings while you cook dinner or watch TV. Now and then I'll do some zoomies, or entertain myself with a paper ball, and I get very excited when my humans pull out Da Bird (video here: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/kUzU84lhhhE!) or any kind of string or ribbon toy!
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: I could be open to living with older children (8+) who respect my boundaries and give me lots of space.
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: Fine for both, I think! I currently live with two cats who are quite interesting - I like watching what they're up to, and I eat dinner alongside them, but I don't really try to interact too much.
There's every chance I'd be OK with a nice dog after careful introductions.

Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two-week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
Please consider, that a Maggie's Pet is a pet for Life, before adopting.
