About Billy
⚠️ Assisted Rehoming
From Billy's current owner:
Billy has lived with 2 families (on the same property) both with small children.
He is excellent with other dogs, having lived with a German Shepherd and a Golden Retriever puppy.
He had also met multiple friends’ dogs who came to visit and loved playing with them.
Billy also gets along really well with our cats and they often play together.
Billy is still getting used to chickens and ducks and needs supervision.
He has not had exposure to other livestock.
Billy needs secure fencing, but above anything, a loving home with people who want him to be part of their family.
He hates thunderstorms and gets really scared and always comes inside and puts his head on my lap whenever there's a storm.
He loves sitting with me in the morning when I have morning coffee.
Billy needs to go to a home with space/acreage where he can bark & no one complains.
Assisted rehoming
This is an assisted rehoming which means that Animals In Need Brisbane (AINB) will advertise, contact applicants and pass on applications that meet the the criteria to the owner who will make the final decision on the rehoming of the animal. AINB may also be requested to undertake an inspection of the successful applicants property to confirm safety and suitability.
There is no adoption fee for assisted rehomings but we do ask for a donation from the successful applicant (of their choosing) to AINB in recognition of the administrative and time costs incurred.
Medical notes
No known pre-existing conditions.
Adoption details
We list animals for adoption on Pet Rescue as well as on our own Animals-in-Need-Brisbane website. We talk with people who contact about an animal to see what their needs and situation are. Our emphasis is on getting the right animal for the people and the right people for the animal. If everyone's needs are met things usually work out well.
If the situation sounds good we arrange a meeting. If all goes well we let people try the animal out for a couple of weeks to ensure that everyone is happy.
We keep records of all adopters, follow up to ensure all is well and undertake to take back any animal if circumstances change.
