About Harley
Meet Harley, a sweet Maltese x (we were told Toy Poodle) who is in search of a patient and nurturing new family. At nearly 4 years old, Harley is a timid little guy, somewhat reticent around new people and situations due to his under-socialised past. However, once he trusts you, he warms up considerably and becomes a gentle companion who enjoys being picked up, cuddled, and scratched—on his terms, of course.
Harley has a special fondness for females, and although he can be reserved around men, his sweet nature eventually shines through with gentle encouragement.
Fully toilet trained, Harley sleeps soundly through the night in a laundry room, preferring a cozy blanket-covered mat over plush bedding. He's quite the little adventurer and is known for his impressive leaps, which means he might occasionally hop over baby gates for a change of scenery. However, his previous urge to escape is on the decline as he becomes more settled and secure.
While Harley may not be a toy enthusiast, he does enjoy his evening walks and a bit of outdoor relaxation. His leash manners could benefit from a harness, especially since he's a bit eager in the face of other dogs or cats, livening up with a bark or two and a few jumps. New people on his path pique his curiosity rather than cause him shyness, which might surprise you given his initial timid nature. Harley is in the early stages of learning commands like "wait" and "stay there," and with time, he’ll likely become more confident and responsive.
For potential adopters looking for a small, loving companion who will blossom with time, patience, and love, Harley might just be the perfect match. With a little encouragement, Harley could quickly become a beloved member of your family, eagerly looking forward to each new day with you.
