Meet Graham,
Graham is a handsome lad with a big heart and an even bigger enthusiasm for life! Graham is best suited to experienced owners who understand the Rottie breed and can appreciate his mix of gentleness, sensitivity, and confidence. He’s wonderfully adaptable and would settle comfortably into just about any household environment, whether it’s calm and quiet or full of action and noise. Graham would also be a fantastic match for active people or families who enjoy getting out and about.
This friendly, outgoing boy loves meeting people and getting involved in whatever you’re doing, and he’s not shy about showing his affection. He can be a little stubborn on walks — in classic Rottweiler fashion — but with patience and consistency, he’s eager to work with you. Graham is excited, social, and always keen to engage, making him a delightful dog to have by your side. If you’re looking for a vibrant, affectionate fellow who’s ready to be part of your world, Graham might just be your perfect new family member.
Ideal Home: Graham is best to live in either a standalone home or farm/acerage, with a medium to large yard and high, secure fencing.
Family: Graham is open to meet kids from 10 years and up (or younger if they are dog savvy). Reason for this is because Graham may knock smaller kids over when he gets the zoomies.
Graham is best to live with people who work part-time hours, while he doesn't show any signs of separation anxiety, he can get a little sad when left alone but is able to self soothe and settle. Giving him enrichment when left alone would be good, but not essential. He is able to spend time in the yard on his own, but would prefer to be inside with his new family or have someone home with him.
Furry Friends: Graham must be the only dog in the home. He is not interested in being friends with other dogs. He prefers people over dogs.
As we cannot test in this environment, we are unsure how Graham would be living with cats/pocket pets. This would up to the discretion of his new owners.
Training & Development: Graham would benefit from post-adoption training such as training at home to cover basic commands/obedience. He is mild mannered and very rarely jumps, unless he is super excited and playful.
Graham is still learning his name, but he knows commands such as 'sit'.
He is food motivated, so having treats on you during training to mark good behaviour would still be an excellent idea. He also takes treats from you gently.
We always recommend post-adoption training whether it be at home or with a professional. Training doesn’t have to be a chore – it can be a fun experience for you both, it doesn’t have to take long & is a great way for you to bond with your new pal.
Play: Graham has mid-range energy needs & would benefit from exercise or walks from 30-60mins a day to keep him healthy and content. Graham is not interested in playing with toys, he prefers to go for walks, or personal play with his handlers.
Graham walks well on lead with some pulling, he can also be a little stubborn on walks but is manageable. He is best walked with a martingale.
Staff Comments: Graham is a big goof ball who would love to play games with you. He loves scratched all the way from his neck to his butt. He doesn't really like to be disturbed when he is eating. So at meal time it's best to feed him and let him finish without interference. He is a bog dog, who has a soft heart and he knows right from wrong. An experienced owner would be ideal.

With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as flawless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories. Most left in the shelter by their owners. The information we receive is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks will surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
So please keep in touch with us after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
The adoption fee for dogs covers C5 vaccination, health check, heartworm testing, desexing, micro-chipping, and registration.
