About All Black
PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE UNABLE TO FLY OUR ANIMALS EITHER WITHIN WA OR INTERSTATE
**Before applying, please remember that adopting a puppy into your home is a huge commitment, and very demanding of your time. Puppies require daily exercise, positive and varied socialisation, grooming, training and playtime. When applying, please consider your work hours, holidays, and how busy your personal life is. Puppies will need someone who is home for most of the day with regular focused input, especially in those first six months after adoption **
NAME: All Black
BEFORE SAFE ESPERANCE: Came to SAFE Esperance from the pound with her mum and 6 siblings.
BREED: Staffordshire Bull Terrier x Shar Pei
BREED TRAITS: Staffordshire Bull Terriers look tough but are affectionate and loving dogs with family - known as Nanny dogs they are great with children if brought up with them correctly. They love to be with their people and do not cope with being alone for long periods, with you they are happy, therefore they are not outside dogs. They are energetic and intelligent and need a really good work out every day. Early training is essential with this breed especially consistent and positive socialisation around other dogs. Bold, intelligent, reliable, and loyal, this breed is not for novice owners.
The Shar Pei was originally bred to guard, hunt, herd and fight but is now a companion dog. A calm, independent thinker, sometimes aloof he is a good watch dog and devoted to his family. Early training is essential to counter his stubborn strong will and gentle exposure, socialisation with humans and dogs must begin early. Due to his short nose he can be prone to overheating so needs to be an inside dog.

ASSETS: A little shy initially, affectionate, friendly, and very sweet! She loves everyone she meets!
FAVOURITE THINGS: All Black loves to be around her people soaking up all the cuddles she can get. She also enjoys playing chasey with her siblings. She is a typical puppy with bursts of energy where she plays for a while then settles down for a snooze (preferably on your lap) before waking up and doing it all over again!
ENDEARING FEATURES: All Black has a very gentle, loving nature.
OTHER ANIMALS: Being a young puppy, she will get on well with other friendly dogs after gentle, supervised introductions. She could live with a dog-savvy, confident cat, again after gentle introduction.
GENERAL INFO: All Black will need training for pretty much everything being so young. Housetraining is underway but she still has some way to go to master it. Expect accidents while she’s settling into her new home and routine! She’ll benefit greatly from puppy school and ongoing classes into adulthood where she can mix with other dogs, and this is a commitment we will expect from her new owner.
ESSENTIALS for All Black:
** a loving home where someone is there for most of the day, essential in the first six months after adoption
** a home where she is treated as part of the family and is allowed to be inside or out as she needs and to sleep inside at night
** a decent sized, well fenced garden where she can run, play, sniff and explore in safety
** attendance at puppy school and continued training into adulthood for her to learn and grow confidence – essential
** continued positive, gentle exposure and socialisation
All Black will have bursts of energy while a pup and we envisage will be medium energy as an adult dog.
All Black has not been in care with children – she could live with dog-savvy gentle children over 8 years of age, who will interact with her gently but also know when to give her space.
