About Barney
Meet Barney, a charming feline with a gentle spirit and a big heart. While he is still getting used to his new surroundings, there's no denying his potential for becoming a loving family member. With a bit of patience and understanding, Barney is bound to blossom into a cherished companion. This endearing cat has shown a particular fondness for being nursed and brushed, and you can often find him gleefully romping around when he's in the mood to play.
As Barney continues to settle in, he will benefit from a tranquil and supportive environment where he can rediscover his love for affection and adventure. He is looking for a home where he can develop a sense of security and be given the space to adjust at his own pace. Barney's friendly nature is already evident, and with time, it will only grow stronger, making him a loyal and loving addition to any home.
If you’re interested in meeting sweet Barney and witnessing his potential firsthand, please visit him at U17/39-41 Corporation Circuit, Tweed Heads South. Adoption details
If there is a cat/dog you would be interested in adopting that you have seen online or met at our Adoption Centres, you will need to fill out an Expression of interest. You can do this at the Centres or online at: https://friendsofthepound.com/adoption-expression-of-interest/
We only adopt out cats and dogs to locations that are within 2 hours driving distance.
If you are a homeowner, we need a copy of your Rates Notice. If you have a Body Corp, we need their written permission that cat/dog ownership is allowed.
If you are in a rental we need written permission from the Home owner/Letting Agent. The letter needs to be dated within the last week and state the property address, the name of the Occupant (adopter-to-be) and how long you have been at the property.
We cannot accept deposits and no hold can be put on a cat/dog.
All adoptions need to be approved by our Cat, Kitten or Dog Coordinators or Management so you might not be able to adopt the cat or dog at the time you meet them.
We aim to match the cats/dogs with the most suitable owner and home environment. Our goal is to have the cats and dogs go to a home where they can spend their entire lives, which could be up to 20 years or more for a kitten, and 15-20 years for a puppy.
