About Zippy
🐾 Meet Zippy - Your New Best Friend!
✨ About Zippy
Age: 1 year old
Breed: Kelpie x Foxie 🐕 only weighing in at just over 11kg.
Coat: Beautiful black & tan 🖤🤎
History: This is her second time in the shelter through no fault of her own.
Personality: Very sweet, gentle, and appeasing 💕. She has lived with another dog before and could enjoy canine companionship again.
🧸 Her Needs
Zippy is a clingy girl who thrives on human connection. She's not suited to spending long hours alone ⏳.
She needs a family who can give her time, reassurance, and affection every day.
With patience and consistency, she will blossom into a loyal, loving companion 🌸.
🐾 Guidance for Timid Dogs
Zippy can be shy and needs help settling into her new home. Here are some tips:
Create a safe space 🏡: Give her a quiet corner or crate where she can retreat and feel secure.
Go slow & steady 🐢: Introduce new people, pets, and experiences gradually.
Positive reinforcement 🎉: Reward calm and confident behavior with treats, praise, and gentle play.
Routine matters ⏰: Consistency in feeding, walks, and bedtime helps build trust.
Patience & love ❤️: Avoid punishment; instead, focus on building her confidence step by step.
👨👩👧 Ideal Home
Zippy would thrive in a home where:
She has company most of the time (work-from-home families, retirees, or households with another friendly dog 🐶).
Her family is committed to helping her feel safe, secure, and loved.
She can enjoy both mental stimulation 🧩 and physical activity 🏃♀️ to suit her working-breed energy.
