Meet Liam,
Liam is a cheerful, confident little character who’s ready to bring his bright energy into a home of his own! Liam is wonderfully adaptable and would suit first-time owners as well as households of any size or style. Whether you're a busy family, an active couple, or someone who just loves heading out for weekend adventures, Liam is more than happy to be part of it all.
Liam has an independent streak, but don’t let that fool you — he’s also incredibly friendly, outgoing, and always eager to be involved in whatever you’re doing. He’s curious about the world, quick to get excited, and loves to dive into playtime. Social and affectionate, he enjoys meeting new people and is generous with his cuddles. Liam is also quite expressive: if he wants something or feels left out, he may give a little whine to make sure his thoughts are heard. It’s simply his charming way of checking in and keeping the communication flowing.
If you're looking for a bright, lovable dog who’s ready for adventure but just as happy relaxing beside you, Liam is your boy.
Ideal Home: Liam is suitable to live in either a townhouse, standalone home or property/acerage, with a medium to large sized yard and high, secure fencing.
Family: Liam is open to meet kids from 10 years and up. Reason for this is that Liam can sometimes be little unsure when being touched in certain areas - older children will be more understanding of his needs.
Liam is fine to live with people who work full-time hours, and he shows no signs of separation anxiety. He is able to spend time in the yard on his own, but would also like to be inside with his new family, too.
Furry Friends: Liam is best to be the only dog in the home, possibly dog selective. He is able to be walked by other dogs without issue but becomes uncomfortable being face to face with them. Super excited/playful dogs make his feel very unsure, while calmer dogs give him less uncertainty. With further socialisation/desensitisation his behaviour towards other dogs could improve, but for now he is best to be the only dog in the home.
As we cannot test in this environment, we are unsure how Liam would be living with cats/pocket pets. This would up to the discretion of his new owners.
Training & Development: Liam would benefit from post-adoption training such as training at home to cover basic commands/obedience. He is mild mannered but may jump on you, on occasion when he is feeling super excited.
Liam is still learning his name, but he knows commands such as 'sit' -though his wiggly, potato booty sees that he doesn't sit for long.
He is food motivated, so having treats on you during training to mark good behaviour would still be an excellent idea. He also takes treats from you gently.
We always recommend post-adoption training whether it be at home or with a professional. Training doesn’t have to be a chore – it can be a fun experience for you both, it doesn’t have to take long & is a great way for you to bond with your new pal.
Play: Liam has mid-range energy needs & would benefit from exercise or walks from 20-60mins a day to keep him healthy and content. Liam doesn't show interest in playing with toys, he prefers to go for walks, personal play with his handlers, snoozing by your side or just being near you.
Liam walks well on lead with minimal pulling - he is manageable. He is best to be walked on a collar and lead.
Staff Comments: Liam is a straight forward and simplistic boy. He would be great for a first time owner. He is a nice dog, but can be a little stressed sometimes which is typical for his breed. He loves to be around you, engage with you and give you cuddles.

With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as flawless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories. Most left in the shelter by their owners. The information we receive is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks will surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
So please keep in touch with us after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
