Meet Eggnog,
Eggnog is a sweet little cat who truly knows how to relax and enjoy the good life. She’s suitable for first-time owners and would shine in a calm, quiet home - though she’s the kind of girl who could settle into just about any household with the right people. Eggnog is open to meeting kids of any age and doesn’t mind at all when you scoop her up for a cuddle. She adores sitting in your lap, soaking up pats, and leaning in for head, ear, and cheek scratches. If you stop too soon, she’ll happily purr, roll over, and bunt into your hand to politely remind you she’s not done with the attention.
A gentle, sensitive, and agreeable soul, Eggnog is friendly, happy, social, and incredibly affectionate. She’s wonderfully engaging, even if she’s a little on the lazy side - she loves her bed like it’s her throne. Toys, however, are not on her list of priorities; she tends to look more offended than entertained by them. She’s also not fussy with her food and will happily eat whatever is offered.
If you're after a calm, cuddly, people-loving cat who wants nothing more than to spend her days snuggled up with you, Eggnog is ready to melt into your arms.
As we cannot test in this environment, we are unsure how Eggnog would go living with dogs. This would be up to the discretion of her new owners.
As for cats, Eggnog seems interested in making friends. We encourage anyone with existing cats to do a gradual and supervised introduction over a few days to ensure that both cats have the best chance of becoming friends.
We always encourage cats to be indoor cats. Eggnog has already experienced living on the streets and she enjoys being inside where she feels safe. If she is outside, it will increase her chances of running away, getting lost, injured, or worse. As an inside cat she can live her best life possible.
Staff Comments: Eggnog is very sweet and affectionate, she's a cat who would like nothing more than some cuddles, pats and a soft bed. Toys aren't her thing, but you are! She's love you, purr, make biscuits and shower you with love if given the chance.

With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as flawless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories. Most left in the shelter by their owners. The information we receive is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks will surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
So please keep in touch with us after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
