Meet Marc,
Marc is a bright and happy dog who’s ready to slip into family life with ease, making him an excellent option for first-time owners. He’s wonderfully adaptable and can settle into just about any household environment, whether things are calm and relaxed or a bit more lively. While Marc would be a great match for active people or families who enjoy getting out and about, his exercise needs are actually quite manageable — he’s just as content stretching his legs on a simple stroll as he is joining you for a longer outing.
Agreeable and outgoing, Marc greets the world with a friendly attitude and a constantly wagging tail. He’s excitable in a fun, enthusiastic way and absolutely loves being around people, soaking up social time wherever he can get it. His affectionate nature really shines once he warms up, and he’s always keen to interact, check in and be part of whatever you’re doing. With his blend of adaptability, sweetness and spirited energy, Marc is the kind of dog who makes every day feel a little lighter.
Ideal Home: Marc is suitable to live in an property type, yard size is of no concern either, just as long as the fencing is high and secure.
Family: Marc is open to meet kids of any age.
Marc is fine to live with people who work full-time hours, and he shows no signs of separation anxiety. He is able to spend time in the yard on his own, but would also like to be inside with his new family, too.
Furry Friends: Marc is open to meet other dogs but is selective of who he spends his time with. At first Marc is a little unsure, but does warm up to the idea of a friend. He's not really interested in playing but can be around another dog who is also calm and just wants to co-exist.
As we cannot test in this environment, we are unsure how Marc would be living with cats/pocket pets. This would up to the discretion of his new owners.
Training & Development: Marc would benefit from post-adoption training such as training at home to cover basic commands/obedience. He is mild mannered but may jump on you. With additional training Marc could be the kind of dog that you could take to a dog friend café or social event.
Marc is still learning his name, but he knows commands such as 'sit' - he has a short attention span though.
He is food motivated, so having treats on you during training to mark good behaviour would still be an excellent idea. He also takes treats from you gently. He appears to be fussy with his every day meals, though.
We always recommend post-adoption training whether it be at home or with a professional. Training doesn’t have to be a chore – it can be a fun experience for you both, it doesn’t have to take long & is a great way for you to bond with your new pal.
Play: Marc has mid-range energy needs & would benefit from exercise or walks from 20-30mins every other day to keep him healthy and content. Marc is not interested in playing with toys, he prefers personal play with his handlers and just being by your side.
Marc walks well on lead with some pulling but he is manageable. He is fine to be walked on any apparatus.
Staff Comments: Marc loves sitting in tall grass on his walks and taking in the sights and smells. He is very loveable and affectionate although he can get too excited and jump on you. He is a happy little guy who would be a great fit for anyone and any home!

With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as flawless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories. Most left in the shelter by their owners. The information we receive is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks will surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
So please keep in touch with us after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
The adoption fee for dogs covers C5 vaccination, health check, heartworm testing, desexing, micro-chipping, and registration.
