About George
Meet George, an adorably small and utterly charming Dachshund who is looking for a serene and understanding new family. At 6 years old and weighing in at just 4.4kg, George is a delightful little companion whose timid nature adds to his sweet allure. Even though he's cautious by nature, with a patient upbringing, George will grow into an unconditionally loving pet.
George is nervous initially and may be tense when carried, but he soon relaxes once he feels secure. His gentle demeanor is a testament to his kind heart, and there are no signs of aggression. With a consistent routine and ample time to decompress, George is sure to blossom into a confident and loving canine companion.
This handsome little fellow will do best in a quiet, calm home with adults or older, quiet kids who understand the importance of patience and respect for his space. Although George is shy now, his loving nature will follow once he's comfortable. Given time and understanding, George will build trust and become a cherished member of your family.
If you're ready to offer this lovely Dachshund the peaceful and loving home he deserves, you'll find George to be a rewarding and devoted friend who will capture your heart with his gentle spirit.
Medical notes
George is showing evidence of hip dysplasia in the right hip. He will need to be closely monitored for evidence of lameness, and may require surgical correction at some stage.
Adoption details
Our adoption process is easy. You will receive a application for the animals you are interested in. Please full that in and send it back to us.
Even though you may be first to message, this does not always guarantee you will be chosen to adopt. By no means do we run on a "first in, first served basis". We aim to ensure that our animals are adopted into the most suitable home for them and the new family.
With all our animals, we go on what our vet has told us and what we believe the breed and age to be. We never guarantee the breed or age but take the best educated guess.
Please note: Our shelter is located in the Snowy Mountains. We are a 5 hour drive from Sydney and Melbourne and 2 to 3 hours from Canberra.
