About Lucy
Meet Lucy, a gorgeous female Kelpie mix with a heart of gold 💛.Weighing around 17 kilos, Lucy is a loving dog who has had quite the journey. Having given birth to nine puppies shortly after she was found as a stray, Lucy was later adopted out but her new owner is unable to keep her. Now, Lucy is looking for a wonderful new family to call her own.
Lucy is fully house-trained ✔️ and sleeps through the night indoors. She enjoys her time both inside and outside, often lounging in the sun ☀️ and taking in the world around her. With no signs of separation anxiety, she is comfortable left alone for short periods, given she gets company during storms ⛈️.
Lucy loves adults and children alike, greeting them with an initial burst of excitement, which can include jumping and licking, before settling down for those much-loved cuddles.
Walks 🐾 are one of Lucy's favorite activities, and she handles a lead well. While she may get a bit overexcited at the sight of other dogs and hasn't mixed with them, her social nature suggests she could thrive with a compatible canine companion, particularly a submissive male 🐕🦺. Lucy can run up to the fence when other dogs are walking past.
Though Lucy is not a fan of water 💦 and hasn’t yet encountered cats 🐈, her open-hearted nature is what truly stands out.
This beautiful girl is ready to bring joy and love to a family that appreciates her spirited, affectionate personality. Whether you're seeking a devoted friend to explore the outdoors or a loving presence in your home, Lucy promises to fill your life with happiness and companionship ❣️.

Adoption details
We list animals for adoption on Pet Rescue as well as on our own Animals-in-Need-Brisbane website. We talk with people who contact about an animal to see what their needs and situation are. Our emphasis is on getting the right animal for the people and the right people for the animal. If everyone's needs are met things usually work out well.
If the situation sounds good we arrange a meeting. If all goes well we let people try the animal out for a couple of weeks to ensure that everyone is happy.
We keep records of all adopters, follow up to ensure all is well and undertake to take back any animal if circumstances change.
