Meet Mumford: A Loyal, Loving, and Energetic Young Companion

Mumford is a young Border Collie x Australian Cattle Dog with a gentle nature and a heart full of affection. He thrives on human companionship, adores cuddles, and enjoys being close to his family. Mumford is highly social and interacts well with children (has been exposed to children from 4 - 17 years of age), making him an excellent addition to an active household.

He is also generally dog-friendly, though his youthful enthusiasm can be overwhelming for older or more reserved dogs. Therefore, any existing canine companions will need to tolerate his lively and sometimes overbearing play style.

As a young and intelligent dog, Mumford is still learning appropriate behaviours. You can expect the usual puppy antics - chewing toys (and sometimes shoes!), jumping up for cuddles, and the occasional attempt to sneak food off the bench. With patience, consistent training, and appropriate mental and physical stimulation, Mumford is sure to mature into a well-mannered and obedient companion.

Mumford’s ideal home should provide:
• A large, secure backyard to accommodate his high energy and allow for safe play and exercise
• A family that is home frequently and able to dedicate time to regular walks, training, and enrichment activities
• Separate feeding routines if there are other dogs in the household, as Mumford can be protective over his food
• Plenty of love, affection, and companionship — which he values above all else

Mumford is proficient with basic commands such as “sit” and “stay” and walks well on a leash without pulling. While he has not been tested with cats, a home without cats is preferred unless a gradual introduction is planned.

This affectionate and spirited young dog deserves a committed family willing to invest time and energy into his ongoing training and wellbeing. If you are seeking a devoted, playful, and intelligent companion, Mumford would make a wonderful addition to your home.
