Basil

Hi, I am Basil.

I am a happy little pup who loves life and pretty much everyone in it. I play beautifully with dogs of all shapes and sizes and I am still figuring out how big dogs like their space, but I am learning fast. Cats are still a mystery to me because I have not met any yet.

Most days you will find me outside with my doggy friends. I like to wander, explore and then sneak inside for snuggles when I get the chance. At night I sleep on the deck or in my crate and I settle quickly. I can be home alone for a few hours and I cope well for a young pup.

I have visited the chicken pen and I think the chickens are very interesting. With the right help I know I can learn to be calm around them. Kids make me excited and I love running after them but I still jump up sometimes, so the tiny ones might need a bit of supervision. New people do not worry me at all. I will happily trot over for a pat and then follow my doggy siblings back to whatever adventure we were having.

I love soft squeaky toys and sticks. Sticks are the best. I am learning my name and I can sit when asked most of the time. I love food which makes training much easier. I am still working on my toileting and I usually have no accidents when I am crated overnight. I am also learning how to walk on a lead. It is all new but I am trying. When I get tired I sometimes like to suckle on my pup friends or their clothes. It helps me settle and I am growing out of it.

I am not a very loud pup. I yip now and then but I am mostly quiet. I have bursts of energy and then I crash into a deep sleep like all good puppies do. I will need a secure yard because I love to dig and explore. I have no health concerns and I eat Chum biscuits, pet mince and chicken frames. They are very tasty.
