Max is a sweet, gentle soul who’s looking for a patient, loving forever home. He may be shy when meeting new people, but once he feels safe, his big personality really shines through. Max loves to be close to his person and once he feels safe, becomes a loyal companion.

Max is great with both cats and dogs. He is known to be a bossy boots with other dogs and not want to share his toys, bed etc with them. Though we are yet to see this behaviour since being in care.

This boy loves his treats! Food is one of Max’s favourite things and a great way to help him build trust and confidence.
If there is another dog in the home, dinner times need to be supervised or the dogs will need to be separated, to avoid Max stealing their food!

Max walks beautifully on a lead, is toilet and crate trained. His crate is his cosy safe space, especially in new situations.
Max prefers to be an indoor dog though does cope being outside during the day. He sleeps inside at night and with his lack of hair, needs coats to keep him warm when it’s chilly.

Max can be nervous in unfamiliar environments or with sudden changes, so he needs adopters who will give him time and reassurance. With time and gentle encouragement, he blossoms into a cheeky, flamboyant, and at times, kinda crazy little dude.

As a Chinese Crested mix, Max requires regular baths and clipping, at least every 2-4 weeks, along with appropriate skin care to keep him comfortable and healthy. He does enjoy sun baking, so sun protection is also important.
If you’re not familiar with the breed, I strongly recommend doing some research prior to applying, their skin care and grooming needs can be considered high maintenance.

Max is looking for family who are home more often than not and who enjoys having a little shadow — Max loves being with his people. He needs a family who understands his sensitive nature and will continue to work on building his confidence in new environments. Another friendly dog would be a bonus, but not essential.
