About Richie the greyhound
If you are interested in Richie, or any of our Greyhounds, we require you to fill in our application form - https://forms.gle/kpSn4PdsS2Uc7gDt6
Meet Richie — The Tall, Handsome Prince of Chill 👑
(2.5 years old.
Profession: Professional Snuggler. Interests: Sunbathing, fashion, and light neighbourhood snooping.)
Richie currently lives in a very respectable duplex, where he divides his time evenly between lounging inside like a cultured gentleman and sitting outside watching birds like it’s his personal Netflix.
A big backyard? Sure, lovely.
But is it essential?
Richie says, “Eh… only if the birds are good.”
🐾 Social Life: Solo or Squad?
Richie currently shares his home with two other greyhounds and gets along swimmingly. But he also LOVES his human time—think of him as a greyhound-sized shadow that holds a diploma in gentle companionship.
He would be happy solo or in a polite dog trio. Easy.
💤 Alone Time & Home Routine
Does Richie handle alone time?
Absolutely. He is a certified lounge lizard.
Give him a comfortable bed and he melts into it. When you return, he’ll greet you with happy excitement because:
“You’re home! That means… WALK???”
👶 Kids?
Richie has met kids and was a perfect gentleman.
BUT he is a big boy (think: house pony), so no tiny humans please—purely for safety and spatial awareness reasons.
🍽️ Resource Guarding? Sleep Startle?
None. Nada. Zero.
Richie loves food, but because he is conveniently dining-table height, he sometimes needs a polite reminder that the plate is not, in fact, his.
🚶♂️ Lead Manners
He walks beautifully—sniffs responsibly—keeps pace like a pro.
He is basically the George Clooney of leash manners.
🚻 Toilet Habits
Holds all night and for long stretches during the day.
Once shown “the correct outdoor bathroom,” he’s good to go. Literally.
⸻
🚗 City Life & New Experiences
No reaction to noises, no spooks—just a curious, fascinated young lad.
Cars, traffic, city sounds: all simply part of his ongoing “What Is That?!” research project.
👩🏫 Suitable Owners
New dog parents? Experienced ones?
Richie says, “I shall adapt.”
He’s extremely easy-going—but he is tall, so prepare for some gentle giraffe energy around the home.
🐶 Other Dogs
Great with big and medium dogs he’s met on walks.
Not yet cat-tested. He would probably think a cat is an interesting, featherless bird.
📈 Areas for Improvement
Getting into cars.
Richie believes cars are mysterious metal mountains.
BUT—since he can already leap onto beds and lounges, he’ll figure it out with a little practice and encouragement. He gets the front feet in a SUV, just needs to motivate the back feet.
We are working on stairs as they are important too.
He’s fascinated by everything new.
So patience + gentle boundaries = happy prince.
💛 Why You’ll Absolutely Love Him
Richie is pure charm. A quiet, gentle, elegant greyhound prince who loves being near you but also enjoys taking his teddy outside to sunbathe and bird-watch.
He follows you everywhere with quiet devotion.
He doesn’t bark.
He doesn’t fuss.
He simply… exists in a state of serene handsomeness.
Oh—and the fashion.
Greyhound fashion looks exceptional on Richie. His soft, beautiful coat turns every outfit into a runway moment.
At just 2.5 years old, he is curious, calm, and ready to explore the world with you—one sniffari at a time.
He hopes everyone gives him a pat, and honestly… who wouldn’t?
