About Faith
Our sensitive soul Faith is a slow burn kind of girl; her ideal home is a patient person (or two) who appreciates that the world can be a scary place and although she is always trying her best she will need time to build her confidence.
Initially Faith can seem aloof, observing you from a distance, channelling the self possessed energy of an XL feline. Once she has had time to settle in and has decided to welcome you to her inner circle of “good humans”, you are in for a treat. She will wake you up with tail wags and a request for tummy rubs. Although she isn’t much of a shadow and won’t follow you around - she will gently check in on you, suggesting it is time for a pat by resting her head on you or climbing up on the couch beside you. When she really opens up, she will invite you to play (she loves a game of tug with some pilfered sockies, and even fetches balls!).
Faith’s most favourite thing in the world is a little treat, she has even been known to bring her humans a toy - not because she wants to play, but because she hopes you might exchange it for a treatie. On the other hand, she thinks dry kibble is maybe the worst thing in the world, and is very much uninterested in eating boring dry dog food… Especially because she knows somewhere in the house there might be a little treat! A forever home who don’t mind a bit of fuss at meal times would be her dream - a dash of bone broth, a splash of sardine juice, a sprinkle of chicken liver. A variety of culinary delights can keep her interested in finishing what is in her bowl, and the way to her heart is through sharing yummy foods!
There are many things in the world that Faith would prefer to avoid, busy streets, traffic, noisy trucks and construction, people walking by too closely. She walks very politely on lead and doesn’t pull, but when she is nervous she’ll turn around and convince you it is much safer to head home. Short strolls in quiet areas are fine, but what she really loves to do is play fetch and do a zoom or two around the yard. She would love a home in a quiet area with space to stretch those speed sticks.
A cool cucumber when home alone, Faith likes to spend her solo time bed hopping, having a stickybeak out the window, and occasionally grazing in her snufflemat. A true introvert at heart, she doesn’t mind her own company - and would prefer not to live with another dog. She has a few close canine walking buddies but like with all things she takes time to warm up to new friends and can become quite overwhelmed if they interact with her too quickly or are too high energy. She is happiest trailing behind a group, just taking things at her own pace and not having to have her butt sniffed too many times.
A gentle soul, Faith is a ready made pet for a household who opt for the quiet life. She imagines there’s a big cosy couch for cuddles together while reading books, sunlit corners for naps, a lush green yard for play, a whole shelf just for her treat collection, and a person who will never mind sharing the last bite of their toast. We hope (or should we say, we have Faith) that her perfect people know that with a little love, time, and space, she will blossom into the most beautiful companion.

Thinking about adopting?
We’d love to help you find your greyhound match!
To get started, we’ll ask for a bit of information about your home and lifestyle on our application form. This helps us make sure we match you with a dog that suits your household and sets both of you up for success.
Many greyhounds come from racing kennels where they’re used to having other dogs around. Some can struggle being left completely alone, which can lead to signs of separation anxiety like barking or chewing.
Because of this, we usually look to rehome greyhounds into homes where they’ll have company - either human or canine - and not be left alone for more than four hours on a regular basis. If that’s not your setup right now, don’t worry as we’re happy to chat about options such as dog walkers, doggy daycare, or taking your greyhound to work.
Our Adoption Checklist:
To be considered for adoption, we ask that you have:
A secure, fully fenced yard (minimum height around hip height)
A home where the dog is allowed to sleep inside at night
A routine that doesn’t leave the dog home alone regularly for long periods (more than 4 hours) without people or another dog for company
If you’re not sure whether you tick every box, please still apply! We’re happy to have a conversation and see if we have a greyhound who might be the right fit.
Please fill in as much detail as you can as there’s no word limit on any question.
