About Albie Valenti
TO APPLY FOR ADOPTION PLEASE SEND IN APPLICATION FORM AVAILABLE BELOW:
https://www.victoriandogrescue.org.au/adopt/
ALBIE IS VERY POPULAR AND AT ALBIE'S REQUEST WE ARE PRIORITISING APPLICATIONS WHERE THERE IS ANOTHER PLAYFUL DOG.
Meet Albie – Your Sweet, Clever Little Shadow
Albie is a gentle, intelligent boy with a heart full of love and the softest eyes you've ever seen. He's a quick learner, incredibly sweet-natured, and loves to be part of whatever you're doing. Wherever you are, he wants to be close by, or better yet, curled up like the tiniest donut right at your side.
Personality
Albie is bright, curious, and picks up new things fast. He's already learned to sit and is mastering other commands like drop, though he's still working on stay. He loves watching the world around him and keeping an eye on his people.
He can be a little timid, especially with loud noises in the same room, but he's completely unfazed by loud sounds outdoors or other dogs barking. He's also beginning to find his confidence—he even woke his foster up after just 24 hours to ask to go outside.
Behaviour and Training
•Very close to being toilet trained and learning quickly
•Doesn't pull on the lead but wanders around the path
•May bark when someone comes through the door but stops once he recognises them
•Can sit, learning drop, and still working on stay
•Loves being held and melts into your arms
Ideal Home
Albie would thrive in a home where someone is around often. He loves companionship and isn't ready to be an only dog home alone all day. Right now, he can manage about an hour alone to start with.
He would adore a home with a yard—he loves his zoomies and playing fetch. Smaller daily walks suit him perfectly for now (two 15-minute walks, increasing to 30 minutes as he matures).
A calm household where he can build confidence and continue learning will help him shine.
Other - Animals and Kids
•Dogs: Unknown in his current home, though previous owner said he was good with them
•Cats: Unsure
•Children: Unsure
Sweetest Soul
Albie just wants to belong. He is affectionate, loyal, and always watching what you're doing—ready to join in or cuddle up. His big, gentle eyes will absolutely melt your heart.
Thank you to Liv Morison of Liv Morison Photography for the fantastic photos
of Albie.

All our dogs are desexed, C5 vaccinated with intranasal, microchipped,
wormed, and flea treated. All necessary vetwork such as dentals,
surgery, eye treatment are also carried out. We are no longer heartworm
testing as we have not had one positive test since we began in 2006. If
a dog comes to us on heartworm treatment this is continued.
Medical notes
No known pre-existing conditions.
Untested with kids and cats at this stage.
Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer free assistance for six weeks for any issues, a lifetime takeback policy with full refund of the adoption fee, and will always be available to offer advice.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you to as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.
If you are still interested, please download an application form from our website:

The application form must be emailed to us:

Please note that we do not take/make telephone calls prior to receiving an application.
Commonly asked questions and their answers are provided when you email us. Unfortunately we usually will not have time to reply to enquiries in more detail and will give priority to completed applications over enquiries. Priority will also be given to typed applications which are easier for us to read and to copy relevant parts.
We look forward to receiving your application.

We appreciate our sponsors and all our donors so much, as without them we would not be able to save the pets we do, or run our programs that reach into the community to give a helping hand. Are you able to donate, sponsor or want to leave a bequest?
