About Stella
⭐ Stella by name and STELLAR by nature!
Meet Stella, a beautiful black and tan Australian Kelpie born on ANZAC Day 2018 - and you can't get more Aussie than that!
Stella weighs 20.5 kgs and has a typically trim Kelpie figure.
This intelligent and affectionate girl has been extremely well socialised by her loving family, who have reluctantly surrendered her due to a change in personal circumstances and through no fault of her own.
Friendly to everyone and unfailingly good-natured, Stella loves human attention (kids included!) and is great with other dogs. She grew up with an older Poodle and two young Maltese and has always been a polite, easy-going girl.
She hasn’t had exposure to cats, but given her adaptability and gentle nature, she’d probably be up for the challenge.
Although she’s never been a working Kelpie, she’s familiar with life around farm animals — sheep, alpacas, pigs — and she doesn’t harass chooks.
She’ll happily play fetch every day of the week. No surprises there.
She has lived on three rural properties, stayed in suburban homes, holidayed in a Gold Coast apartment, and even lived on a sailboat for two months. She travels well, even on long distances; enjoys the thrill of riding on a quad bike; is house-trained; enjoys the cafe culture; and is easy to walk on leash.
She respects fences (even low ones she could jump!) and is not a barker — though she’ll politely join in if the resident dogs start the conversation.
Stella is accustomed to sleeping inside, either on her own bed or tucked under yours.
She doesn’t like thunder or gunshots or similar loud noises and will want comfort inside (or on your lap, if allowed) when outside is noisy.
Stella would be happy as an “only child” or as part of a small pack. Her ideal home is one where someone, human or canine, is around most of the time. She doesn’t suffer from separation anxiety, but long stretches alone aren’t really her cup of tea.
She’s healthy, active, affectionate, and ready to be someone’s devoted companion.
She’s an inside–outside dog who’s used to all the privileges that status entails — and she deserves nothing less.
