About Bertie
Meet Bertie, a sweet and peaceful dog who is ready to join an understanding and patient new family. Bertie's calm and placid nature shines through, even as she's figuring out the world around her. While she can be slightly reserved when encountering new people and surroundings, this gentle soul is worth getting to know.
Bertie is crate trained, happily retreating to her comfy spot during the day whenever she wishes some quiet time. With a little encouragement, she settles in for the night without any fuss, remaining quietly in her crate until morning. Her love for daily walks makes her an excellent companion for a leisurely stroll, and she's doing remarkably well in learning the ropes of lead walking, growing more confident with each outing.
While Bertie isn't motivated by food rewards, she's a sucker for a good chin scratch, winning her over with affection and attention. She travels well in the car, making her an ideal road trip buddy for those small family adventures. Kids over the age of 12 will find a loyal friend in Bertie, and she gets along well with other dogs. Her compatibility with cats hasn't been tested yet, so slow introductions would be key.
Bertie is recovering from eyelash surgery known as blepharoplasty where the eyelid rolls inward, causing eyelashes to rub against the eye. She will require eye ointment twice daily and a follow up vet visit in 8 weeks.
Bertie values her tranquil space, so a secure yard with a fixed outdoor undercover area is perfect for her, giving her the freedom to explore and relax. Her recent blepharoplasty surgery means she requires some eye ointment twice daily and will have a follow-up with the vet for further care. Handling her with love will help her continue adapting and thriving in her new environment.
If you're patient and generous with your affection, Bertie is ready to reward you with her gentle companionship and unconditional love. Adopt her and become part of her journey as she blossoms into an even more delightful dog.
