About Thelma
🌟 Meet THELMA — Affectionate, Loyal, and Ready for Her Forever Family
Thelma is a confident, people-focused youngster who loves cuddles and companionship. Born on 28 April 2025, she’s growing into a beautiful, medium-sized girl with a calm, friendly nature.
She gets along wonderfully with children and cats, enjoys being close to her humans, and is a keen learner. Thelma now knows sit and down, loves playing with toys, fetching, and waits patiently for her food. She’s smart, eager and responds well to guidance.
Thelma is coming out of her shell and has become a little choosy with her canine pals. In her busy foster home she has plenty of dogs to interact with, and she naturally gravitates toward the male or older dogs she knows. With new dogs, she prefers a gentle, unhurried introduction and isn’t a fan of overly boisterous youngsters rushing her.
We think she’d thrive in a home with one or two steady, familiar dogs, or happily as an only dog where she can soak up all the attention for herself.
She is house-trained, leash-trained, and an inside-outside dog who loves a lounge snuggle or lap cuddle.
Thelma’s ideal home will have people who are home most of the time - 'cos she loves people - a secure yard to keep her safe AND as an optional extra, an older canine companion who treats her like the young lady she is.

Adoption details
Dogs:
(1) The first step is to complete the online adoption application form at https://southerndownsark.com.au/apply-to-adopt/ Please answer all questions and include photos of your yard and fencing.
(2) All applications will be considered by our Adoption Team, following which a "meet and greet" will be offered to the top-ranking applicant.
(3) If the “meet and greet" is successful, the applicant may adopt the dog and take him or her home the same day.
(4) For successful interstate applicants, different arrangements may apply and will be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
Cats:
If you are interested in one of our cats or kittens, please click on the green "Enquire about ...", button, tell us a bit about yourself and the home you can offer the cat, and one of our volunteers will be in touch.
