About Sarah
Hi! I'm Sarah and I'm looking for a new family to call my own.
APPLICATION PROCESS APPLIES FOR SARAH
PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW APPLICATION FORM
https://forms.gle/9Vhz7fjsQoVQebTL6
NOTE: You are unable to meet Sarah until/unless you have been notified that you are a successful applicant. An adoption cannot be approved unless you are able to come to the shelter to meet Sarah in person and bring any dogs you currently have with you.
What I need in my new home:
• Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• Further training with basic doggie manners
• To be allowed inside with my family and not left outside 24/7 with no interaction.
• I am still a puppy, so I WILL bite, chew things, toilet inside, bark & cry and be destructive. It is up to you to train these behaviours out of me. Please don't apply for me if you are not willing to put in the effort to train me to grow up to be a well behaved and social dog.
• A doggie companion is a MUST to keep me company when my family isn't home or a family that is home all the time. I get lonely and a bit anxious when left alone which may cause me to bark or become destructive.
• I appeared scared of cats when meeting them at the shelter however once my confidence around them grows I might be more inquisitive; I show signs of possibly having a high prey-drive as my confidence grows. To give me the best chance its best I go to a home without cats.
• Secure Fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent, no gaps or holes.)
• Lots of toys, mental stimulation, love and attention
• No young children as I can be a bit shy in new situations and with new people and little ones may accidently scare me. Older children who will be involved with my training should be ok
• I have lots of energy so an active family is a must
• SOCIALISATION is as important for me as it appears I've led a very sheltered life and can be a bit nervous/shy in new situations. Since being at the shelter I'm becoming much braver though. Taking me to lots of different places, meeting lots of people (children, men, woman etc) and meeting lots of dogs and other animals will help boost my confidence
• Being young, I will adapt & learn easily, how I mature will only be a reflection of you & my upbringing
My best features:
• Wiggle butt
• I know how to sit
• Highly food motivated
• Gentle & placid
• I love attention and having snuggles with my humans
• Happy to hang out with other friendly dogs
• I love attention, hugs, kisses & head scratches
• Well mannered
• Love to snooze on the couch
• I walk well on lead for a young doggo but having daily walks should help me improve my lead skills
Where I need to improve / Training required:
• I will benefit from further basic training
• I appear scared of thunder & fireworks. I will require a safe space to retreat to during these events as well as comfort and reassurance from my family.
• As I have not been allowed inside before I am not housetrained yet
AN ADOPTION CAN'T BE APPROVED IF YOU HAVE CANNOT COME TO THE SHELTER TO MEET SARAH IN PERSON.
