NOTE: You are unable to meet Mary until/unless you have been notified that you are a successful applicant. An adoption cannot be approved unless you are able to come to the shelter to meet Mary in person and bring any dogs you currently have with you. 

What I need in my new home: 
• Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard 
• Further training with basic doggie manners 
• To be allowed inside with my family and not left outside 24/7 with no interaction.
• A doggie companion is a MUST to keep me company when my family isn't home or a family that is home all the time. I get lonely and a bit anxious when left alone which may cause me to bark or become destructive.
• NO CATS OR POCKET PETS – they will be fun to chase 
• Secure Fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent, no gaps or holes) 
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation 
• A diet of good quality dry food to help keep my teeth clean 
• Lots of love and attention 
• No young children as I can be a bit shy in new situations and with new people and little ones may accidently scare me. Older children who will be involved with my training should be ok 
• I am still a puppy, so I may bite, chew things, toilet inside, bark & cry and be destructive. It is up to you to train these behaviours out of me. Please don’t apply for me if you are not willing to put in the effort to train me to grow up to be a well behaved and social dog. 
• SOCIALISATION is as important for me as it appears I've led a very sheltered life and can be a bit nervous/shy in new situations. Since being at the shelter I'm becoming much braver though. Taking me to lots of different places, meeting lots of people (children, men, woman etc) and meeting lots of dogs and other animals will help boost my confidence

Where I need to improve / Training required:  
• I'm learning to walk on the lead at the shelter and am getting much better. I'm still a bit slow and fearful but with lots of practice I should soon look forward to a daily stroll around the neighbourhood 
• I seem to be nervous/scared of other dogs, so taking me place where I'll interact with dogs in a controlled environment will help me learn to not fear them anymore.
• I am shy at first with new people and in new environments so will require a family who will take their time allowing me to settle in and continue with my socialization 
• I love my food so using them as a positive reward should make my training easier. 
• I appear to be quite vocal at times when left alone - a family who has a lot of time for me, allow me indoors and leave me with lots of mental enrichment when home alone is recommended 
• I appear to be scared of thunder & fireworks and will whine. I will require a safe space to retreat to during these events as well as comfort and reassurance from my family.
