About Bomba
Meet Bomba - Your New Best Friend!
Age: 2 years
Breed: Labrador Retriever Mix
Energetic • Affectionate • Social • Eager to Learn
Bomba is a gorgeous black Lab mix boy with a bright personality and a heart full of love! At just 2 years old, he's enthusiastic, fun, and ready for a fresh start with a committed family who can help him become the confident, well-rounded companion he's destined to be.
Bomba is an intelligent young dog who is still mastering his foundation training, but he's a fast learner with a big desire to please. Walking on a lead was new to him not long ago, but he's picking it up beautifully. His food motivation makes training fun, effective, and rewarding for everyone involved.
Bomba is dog-social with most dogs, and he has previously lived with other dogs, cats, and children, showing his ability to adapt well to a busy household.
He will, however, need ongoing support with socialising politely with unfamiliar dogs. His new family should be prepared to continue this journey through positive reinforcement, gradual exposure, and-if needed-support from a professional trainer or a local dog obedience club along with ongoing FREE assistance from BARC through our Petcademy behavioural services included in your adoption.
Bomba would thrive in a home that can offer him structure, love, and plenty of playtime. His perfect match would be:
A family with older children (10+), who will enjoy his young, playful energy
A home with space for games, training, and outdoor fun
Ideally, a well-mannered older dog who can help build his confidence and guide him
A committed family willing to continue his training and socialisation
You'll Love Him
Friendly and social
Intelligent and eager to please
Joyful, enthusiastic, and full of potential
Has lived successfully with dogs, cats, and kids but does require some guidance with some dogs.
Loyal, affectionate, and ready to be your shadow
With the right mix of patience, positive reinforcement, and loving guidance, Bomba will grow into an incredible lifelong companion-fun, loyal, and devoted.
🏡 Rehome From Home Program
Bomba is being adopted through BARC's Rehome from Home program.
This means he is not in shelter care-he is happily relaxing with his current family while he waits for his new one.
Because of this, meet & greets are available on weekends only, and by appointment.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
