About Colt
Colt is such a cutie patootie. A big puppy with a lovely gentle nature, Colt has lived a sheltered life to this point and is a little timid especially with new places and people. He will benefit from gradual, patient socialisation and introduction to new things. Colt is such a gentle and loving pup who really enjoys being a shadow to his people. He'll make a really loyal family addition.
Colt has all the normal puppy behaviours - he loves chew toys, is playful, then needs a sleep to recoup his energy, and he'll also often calmly sit and watch the world go by. He is a quick learner and easy to correct. Some group puppy training classes would be great for him. He's learning to sit and wait for his food, learning his name and has reasonable recall. Reward training will definitely reap rewards.
Colt is great with the school aged kids in his foster home, gets on wonderfully with other dogs, and is also great with his carers' chickens: he even ignores the baby chicks. He doesn't have toiletting accidents overnight, nor during the daytime if he has regular trips outside.
Colt is not yet a fan of the car, but with short, positive trips and as he matures, this should improve. He will enjoy regular exercise outside of his yard to keep him healthy and happy and to widen his horizons.
Colt is simply a lovely, gentle pup, and while he will likely grow to be quite big, we think he will make an amazing family member.

Before applying for a puppy, please remember that adopting a pup into your home is a huge commitment. Puppies require daily exercise, positive and varied socialisation, grooming, training and playtime. When applying, please consider your work hours, holidays, and how busy your personal life is. Puppies will need someone who is home for most of the day with regular focused input, especially in those first six months after adoption.
