About Balthazar
Meet Balthazar, a lovely, friendly, chillaxed guy. He loves pretty much everyone he meets and is always happy to get a head scritch.
He loves hanging out with his humans, particularly snuggling up with them in bed.
He's really great around other cats. Once he knows they're friendly, he's completely fine with them. He's just an anything goes kind of cat!
When Balthazar first came to the rescue he was severely underweight. A kindhearted member of the public found him in the middle of an industrial area, skinny and weak. When she took him to the vet they said he might have only had three days left to live, he was so malnourished. She did a great job of getting him the vet care he needed and getting some much needed calories into him. Then she contacted us to help with the rest of his journey to health and happiness.
He's come so far. He's a much healthier weight now and loving being around humans. You can see from his photos how lovely and snuggly he is.
He deserves a forever home, where he can be showered in the love he deserves for the rest of his life.
Medical notes
Because Balthazar was in such bad shape when he was first found, he was tested for lots of thing (FIV, FELV etc) and came back negative for them all. He also had his liver function tested and got a clean bill of health on that too. He does have some broken teeth, and so has a bit of a tendency to slobber on his food, but he still manages to get through it!

Adoption details
ADOPTION PROCESS:
1. An Adoption enquiry should be made via
https://form.jotform.com/shellys.place.rescue/adoption-enquiry
2. Once your application has been received, one of our volunteers will contact you for a phone interview. This is to determine whether one of our cats or kittens will be a good fit for your home. We all want long-term success in placing rescue animals, so finding the best fit for the animal AND the family is very important.
3. 'Meet & Greet' with the animal and their carer will then take place if the application is approved.
4. A property check will take place via a video. Once this has been successfully completed, adoption paperwork finalised and the adoption donation processed, the pet can be collected from foster care.
5. A 14 day settling-in period commences once the animal has been collected from foster care.
6. Adoption is finalised after 14 days. Paperwork/records will be included in an adoption pack.
7. All animals will be rehomed desexed, 1st vaccinated, microchipped and treated monthly for fleas and intestinal worms. Once the adoption is finalised, the new owners are responsible for all vaccinations and preventative treatments.
As we are run entirely of volunteers we endeavour to respond to your enquiry as soon as we can. Your patience is greatly appreciated.
PLEASE NOTE: We are unable to hold any animals. Please only apply if you are ready to adopt now.
