About Lupin
Meet Lupin, the fun-loving, smart, and affectionate German Shepherd who is more than ready to become your new best friend.
Whether your lifestyle is low-key or bustling with activity, Lupin adapts seamlessly, bringing his confident and social nature into any atmosphere. An explorer at heart, this young shepherd thrives on stimulation and would make the perfect companion for those with an active lifestyle.
Lupin is not just any companion—he’s an active partner for all life’s adventures. With his zest for life and high energy levels, Lupin requires daily exercise, including morning and afternoon walks to explore new places and tackle any adventure that comes his way.
As a young and sharp shepherd, he's always looking for guidance through his growing phases. His intelligence shines through, as he’s eager to learn and loves showing off new commands.
Engaging his brilliant mind is as important as keeping him physically active, and Lupin relishes any challenge that makes him think outside the box.
Lupin thrives in a home where his owners are experienced handlers, preferably familiar with German Shepherds, who can engage with his energy and intellect. He forms strong bonds with his people and loves to be involved in all family activities. Lupin will do best in a standalone house or on a farm/acreage with ample space, a medium to large yard, and good fencing to match his adventurous spirit.
While Lupin has not met cats or small pets yet, he would gladly welcome a furry friend of a similar size as a fellow playmate.
With children, he is best placed with those aged eight and up, as his enthusiasm during playtime might be overwhelming for smaller kids.
Training Lupin is a rewarding journey in itself. He knows his name, walks on a loose lead, and understands commands like "the bed." Crate-trained and sociable with other dogs.
Lupin would benefit from continued post-adoption training to harness his potential further. With mid-range energy needs.
Lupin enjoys an active routine, thriving on 30-60 minutes of exercise or play each day, alongside engaging activities like puzzle toys for mental engagement.
While Lupin is immensely adaptable, transitioning to a new home takes time. New owners should be prepared for a patient journey to allow him to decompress from shelter life. In return, Lupin promises unwavering loyalty, love, and companionship, with plenty of adventures along the way.
If you're seeking a playful and brilliant canine friend, Lupin is thrilled to meet you!
Currently available for adoption in NSW, ACT, Queensland, and Victoria, Lupin is waiting to meet a family who understands the commitment and joy of owning a German Shepherd. If for some reason he needs to be returned he must come back to us.
If you're ready to welcome Lupin into your life, we invite you to apply and begin this wonderful adventure by clicking the "Enquire about Lupin" link or visiting our website for further details. Let Lupin become the cherished family member he was always meant to be.
Medical notes
No known pre-existing conditions. Lupin will be desexed once he reaches one year of age.
Adoption details
We have an Adoptions Manager who screens all prospective candidates as to their suitability to adopt a German Shepherd Dog.
We try to contact every one by phone but if that isn't successful we will email our application form to you, which needs to be completed and returned, or you can call us back and we can chat and complete for you. We will also ask you to provide photos of your yard and fencing to enable us to see where the dog will be kept and that they have areas of shade and shelter.
All our dogs are ready to go to their new home, so when you enquire about a dog you must be in a position to take them into your home. We are unable to hold a dog while you fix your fences or go on holiday, etc.
The successful candidate who adopts one of our dogs is provided with an information kit, ongoing support, training and advice on all aspects of feeding, training and general assistance to ensure both the new owner and our rescued dog settle into their home.
