Mochi’s story began with us, in foster care with her siblings. She was raised with humans (this girl is no stray) and was adopted at four months old in 2022 into what seemed like the perfect home. Fast forward three years, and we received a call from a pound. Mochi had been surrendered because her family didn’t want her anymore.
Mochi takes some time to build trust with new people, but once she does, she transforms into a sweet girl who looks for the company of her trusted humans. She is no pushover though: she likes pats when she feels like it and will use her tiny meows to tell you when she feels meal service is slow. Mochi has a big personality and likes spending time in the same space, not necessarily on a lap, but close by, almost like a dog: next to the desk while her carer works from home, or on the armrest of the couch while she relaxes.
Mochi is an easy going companion. She is well mannered, uses litter box perfectly. loves her food and her cat tower, and doesn't ask much from her human. She appreciates company, respect for her boundaries, and a quiet life. Her ideal day would be spent in a calm home, watching the world go by from a safe, sunny spot, fully indoors but content with a view.
Mochi is looking for an adult only home, ideally a single person or a couple leading a calm life, who appreciates calm company and understands mutual respect. She would be alright as a solo cat, perhaps just a dog as a company, but with the right introductions, could also get along with a respectful adult cat. In her foster home, kitten energy hasn't been her cup of tea, but she gets along well with cat savvy respectful dogs and prefers their company over active cats.
Mochi doesn’t need constant attention; she just needs someone who appreciates her just as she is. If you want to know every day that you gave a cat her second chance, and you appreciate quiet companionship, understand boundaries, and love a cat who knows her own mind, she might just be your perfect match

Adoption details
Please email us at adoptions@heartandsoulrescue.com.au if you are interested in adopting one of our precious souls, and we will email you our Adoption Application Form.
Once we have received your completed form, we will then contact you to discuss suitability. If we feel one of our cats or kittens will be suited to you, we will arrange a home visit or ask for a short walk-through video of your home.
If all goes well, we will give you a *trial period of 2 weeks to see if our cat or kitten is the right one for you 💕 *Conditions apply - We reserve the right to reject a full refund if recommendations & requests regarding your new cat/kitten have not been adhered to. (A 25% admin fee will apply)
