Meet Norman, a delightful 2-year-old dachshund with a heartwarming shyness that will surely capture your affection. Despite his initial timidness, Norman has an incredibly sweet nature and, once he warms up, his loyalty and loving demeanor will undoubtedly shine through. Weighing in at 5.7kg, this compact minnie companion is ideal for those looking for a furry friend that is not only adorable but also manageable in size.
Norman is desexed, chipped, vaccinated, and wormed, making him ready to transition into a new family with open arms. He has proven to be friendly with other dogs and shows potential for being a wonderful companion for children. As part of his endearing spirit, Norman absolutely adores car rides, finding joy in every adventure on the road. While he is an inside dog and requires secure fencing, his curious nature and penchant for exploring mean he would be thrilled with supervised outdoor playtime.
Norman’s house-training is a work in progress but his intelligence and eagerness to please indicate he will pick it up quickly with a bit of patient guidance from his new family. Time and positive reinforcement will be key to helping him feel comfortable and confident in his new surroundings.
He can be clingy as most experienced dachshund owner know, and this is why we are looking for a loving and kind and patient person or family for him. Someone home a lot, someone with a big heart.
Adoption fees for Norman are set at $895, and he's currently residing in Morningside, eagerly waiting for his forever family. If you're seeking a loyal companion with a sweet and slightly shy persona to weave into the fabric of your daily life, Norman is ready to fill that role with charm and devotion.

Here are some quick tips to make your APPLICATION stand out:
Include as many details as you can about your lifestyle, family, accommodation, and work. Here’s some first-hand feedback from our member rescue organisations about what they'd like to see in your applications:
🐱 Why would this animal suit your home? (This lets them know that you've read the pet’s bio and considered their personality vs. your lifestyle)
🐾 Details about your family
🏡 Is your home quiet/relaxed or loud/busy? (Particularly important for timid cats). Ask questions, to show your are interested in the animals ell being.
Add questions into the application.
Fill out the profiles of your current pets if you have any. Understanding the personality of resident cats and dogs will help rescue organisations or foster carers determine if the pet will adjust to your surroundings.
Remember to be respectful and kind in your enquiries. A simple greeting can go a long way! Behind that screen is a real hooman, who loves and cares for the pet you're enquiring about just as much as you will!
Be open and honest - rescues prefer having as much information as they can about potential adopters.
An adoption fee applies to each animal to cover only the basic veterinary procedures, and each adoption goes out on a 21 day settling in period, if the dog is returned in this period, and you’ve spoken to our trainer for assistance, and the dog is returned in good health, mentally and physically, and all their belongings and paperwork are returned, then we provide a refund less $50 admin fee (per dog) . This is not a trial, but in case of any unknown or unforeseen circumstances.
The adoption process is as follows
✅Everyone that lives in the home will meet the dog with the carer
✅We ask everyone go home again and discuss and think about overnight and contact us the next day
✅This also gives the carer a chance to think about suitability
✅Then if everyone agrees we then require a home inspection, or at least photos of the home yard and fences.
✅Then the adoption fee is paid and once that clears our account you are free to arrange with the carer to collect
✅The adoption paperwork comes out in 14 days in which time you are required to register and change chip over
